In general it's a very pleasant place to stay. The house is located in a very calm street, but at the same time close to the center. Breakfast is excellent with fresh orange juice and even bread that is made by them. There's a kitchen available for the guests. The bedroom is large and the bed is comfortable. The only drawback is that there is only one shared bathroom for the three rooms. It's almost certain that you'll have to wait to use the bathroom in the mornings.

If you are alone, the value for the money is good at la maison de Ushuaïa. If you are two, it become bad:you pay double price just for a second breakfast (the 2 rooms are more or less the same). In one word:good but too expensive for what they have to offer...

Highly recommend this accommodation. The room was lovely, the house was close to the main street, and the facilities were clean and nice. The owner Solange was lovely and very friendly, spoke excellent English, and was a rgood source of information about local activities. We had a great time.

Stayed 6 nights here and highly recommend! House is clean, cosy and quite quirky as it is built up into the hillside so some rooms have 2 levels or a slanted roof. 3 guest rooms in the house, with a bathroom and kitchen with dining table available for guest use, seldomly used by family who have their own kitchen and bathroom. Family are incredibly welcoming and feels more like staying with a favourite aunt. Good breakfast-lovely coffee, daughter speaks fluent English and is very informative.

memorable - especially the family of women who own/run it - and bake delicious bread for breakfast every day! felt more like a family stay (and interesting peek into Ushuaia life) than a hostel business A stay here is worth a visit to Ushuaia alone

I felt that I was made part of the family when I had my prolonged stay in Ushuaia. It was lovely to be shown the mountains by Solange and have a tour of parts of the city which I might never have found. I hope all their planned changes to the accommodation go smoothly - the results should be wonderful. Just one recommendation - it would be lovely to have a mirror in each room if only on the inside of the cupboard door.

This is a guest house, the owner rent rooms to travellers, but the place is really nice, she is very helpful, good wifi, amazing breakfast, good informations, good rooms, not really close to main street (4 or five blocks) but Ushuaia is a small town

I lost my suitcase on the flight from Buenos Aires. The family was very helpful to recover it from Aerolineas. The breakfast is excellent.

Great hosts, hot showers, cool rooms, homemade bread, good stay.

This is a nice house, good for people who like to hike uphill, to make conversation with the host, play with the dog and have a good breakfast. The heating system and the fixtures are old fashion.

The family who runs it consider their needs first, then their guests. Breakfast was good, but an uncomfortable vibe overall.

We were uncomfortable at the B and B as the owners got mad and shouted at another couple for using the kitchen facilities, but did not apply the same treatment to other couples later. The common areas for guests has very poor furniture. Rooms were decent and clean and the breakfast terrific. Ushuaia books all the way up in December and Janauary so homes with rooms for rent may not have to try as hard as most places.

We loved La Maison and the local family that runs this guest house. Highly recommended! Very warm, clean & excellent shower & bathroom. Good kitchen you can use. The bed and linen are very comfortable. Walking distance to town & supermarket. Solange helped us with tourist info & bookings. She has a gorgeous baby called Chloe & they also have a cute little dog; it's a quiet home but you feel very welcomed. Good value for money compared to other hostels. Thanks Solange for the home away from home!

This is a lovely place to stay in Ushuaia. The family owners are really nice and helpful. There are only 3 guest rooms, so very personal. We thought it was a bit expensive when booking, but worth the money. We had the double ensuite and it was a great room. Breakfast was excellent, homemade jam and bread! Staff were helpful with booking trips and local advice. The place a short walk from the main streets, but close enough to everything and far enough a way for some piece and quiet!

We enjoyed our stay here. Two things that would have made this the perfect stay would be a more varied, healthy breakfast (so basic we actually only ate there on our first morning) and not having to share the family’s bathroom (it’s filled with their stuff making you feel like you're really encroaching on their personal space). Other than that they went out of their way to help us book & plan everything, which was a lovely personal touch! I would recommend this as a budget friendly alternative

We did not expect to share the bathroom with the family themselves. We had a room upstairs with family. Not a lot of privicacy for us and for them. We made a reservation for double bed, but had two singles. Nice when you like to be in close contact with the owner. Ask for one of the two rooms in the lower level of the house.
