This turned out to be a great little hostel. Not as much in the way of organised activities as other hostels but this was almost like having your own house/apartment. Staff were not there all day to monitor the door, instead you had a personal code to let yourself in and out. It had a very homely feel. Was also easy to meet people due to the set up of the rooms. Owners were very friendly and hostel was in a great location in the old town area.

It was an amazing location, it was clean and everyone was very nice. If you are looking for a nice fun place for young people, this is for you. Not really suited for families or adults looking for a nice bed and breakfast. This is a HOSTEL, there are dorms, there is a lot of people around, so if that's what you are looking for, then this is for you!!! We loved it.

Quaint place in a great location in the heart of Vieux Montreal, but it comes with a few pitfalls. If you are a couple looking for a quiet guest house, then this probably isn't the place for you. Private rooms right next door to the common room and the walls are paper thin so if people party all night don't expect to get sleep. You can call the owners but they live off site. Also upstairs is a open dorm which you have to walk through to get to the couple of showers that are available.

I liked and disliked this hostel. Its location is great but it also meant that it was very noisy at night esp. on weekends. The hostel itself has lots of charm and the bathrooms were immaculate. However the staff was pretty rude to us on our arrival. Most of the double rooms are on the main floor and many guests were partying in the lounge next to our room until 5am. No staff on at night either (they said to call anytime, but that they had young kids) so it's hard to enforce the 11pm quiet rule.

Stayed in the double bed private and it was super cute! The hostel is very charming and an absolutely great location. Right in the heart of Old Montreal and pretty close to the Metro, Bus Terminal and Train Station. The bathrooms were convenient (toilets, showers and sinks all separate) and the owner is helpful and friendly. We had a great time!

One of the best hostels I've ever stayed in. It's set up perfectly for people to meet eachother. Location is fantastic, staff was great, and I will be recommending this hostel to anyone who is going to Montreal.

Pros: Great location in old Montreal; no curfew; clean space Cons: very cramped; the dorms are too open so it's difficult to sleep but thankfully the crowd wasn't loud at night. There are only 2 showers and only 2 toilets in the whole place and no toilets on the top floor where most of the people are staying.

Owner Comment (Show)
If you pay 21$ a night for a stay right in the middle of Old Montreal you have to be reasonable with what you are asking. If you want to have a large room with a private bathroom around the price starts at 200$ a night.

I felt that there was no true place to get to know the other people who were staying there as well.

This hostel was cozy and had a lot of character. The people staying there seemed friendly, although we kept to ourselves a bit. 1 complaint, we were not informed that the last 4 digits of our HostelWorld booking number would be the door entrance code. So we were left on the street for a bit before someone would finally answer the door. This was not a huge problem as it was early in the day and someone was on staff, but could easily have been a problem if we arrived later in the evening.

Owner Comment (Show)
It says in the hostel conditions AND in the e-mail confirmation AND in another seperate e-mail that you need that code. You have to read your confirmation. There is a phone number on the door you could call at anytime and we can give you a code over the phone at anytime without a problem.

Great hostel, I would everyone recommend going there, if your're looking for a cheap, but clean and perfectly located located accomondation. Staff is very helpful and friendly and most of Montreal's attractions can be reached by foot. If not, next metro station is just a 10-min walk away.

I absolutely LOVED this hostel! It's friendly, the staff writes up a board on what there is to do locally for fun. The mixed dorm is great, you still get your privacy thanks to the curtains! Would definitely stay again!

I had a fantastic time staying here. Loads of character and friendly staff made the stay lots of fun. I would definitely stay here again. This is right in the middle of Old Town and surrounded by cafes and tourist attractions. If you like a Hostel with something a bit different then this is the place for you. Thanks!

Stayed at Montreal Central first, then had to move to here as it was booked out. I preferred Central, but this place had comfortable beds, a nice loft dorm that accommodated the 22 beds well and is a good location if you like the old town. Wifi was reliable. Can get a bit claustrophobic as not much natural light and no outdoor areas.

Really brilliant, cozy and homely after a lot of the larger hostels! Staff are also fantastic. It's located in Old Montreal, so you have to walk or plan transport into the other areas of the city, but I found the whole area very walkable and compact. There are no organised events (e.g. pubcrawls) per se as in the big hostels, but the atmosphere is so friendly it is easy to meet people! This is by far my favourite hostel in Canada (I've done about 10- 12 now).
