This hostel has pros and cons, for sure. The location was relatively near the metro, which is a big plus, the price is reasonable, and they provide REAL breakfast in the morning---eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, etc. As to the cons: the bedroom I was placed in was not ideal for sleeping if one is a light sleeper. It had french doors leading immediately outside, and lots of light came in. Also residents of another room had to walk through this room to get to theirs, so there was noise.

The main building is a actually mansion so thats pretty cool and the inside of the building is nice as well. Breackfast could change a bit more often. Cool pool and wifi works well, staff are always busy and friendly, you can organise to be picked up and droped of from the airport in a limo and its not much more expensive than the taxi so thats cool and a fun way to travel. There is lots of food places in walking distance and a supermarket also in walking distance

The absolute best place to stay. Comfy beds, great breakfast and unbeatable location (close to the train line and walking distance to food for less) the place to stay if you're in LA.ses

Staff was very very friendly and welcoming! Was the perfect last hostel before we went back home. 20 minutes to the airport, 1 hour by train to downtown.

10 mins walk from the subway, but far from everywhere else. It's an ok place, but I'm sure there are better value for money places around in LA (private double for 2x45)

The hostel was fantastic. The beds were not your regular wobbly and squeaky type but were instead sturdy and SO comfortable. The pool was fantastic, the staff were lovely, the included breakfast was AMAZING with bacon, eggs, sausages, waffles and juice

There are few hostels in LA, so we ended up in this one. We had low expectatives and it turned out to be a great hostel, and the staff is just awesome, it doesn't feel like the safest place in the world, but that's LA. Even though, we had no incidents and met a lot of great people, would stay there again.

Very nice hostel. Very warm but they provide fans. The staff are lovely and it's quite a secluded spot that's quite safe. However it is a bit of a mission to get to hollywood blvd/Venice beach. But I guess that's why you're saving money. All in all a very good value for money hostel.

The staff were helpful and welcoming . They were very accommodating for us as we had a friend who booked separately and we requested to stay with her which they made possible. If we had any questions about how to use the metro etc they had the answers. The metro is only a 10min walk with food4less up the street too.

Very nice hostel with friendly staff and visitors. Despite the location is quite central in LA and near downtown, the environments is not the best at night.

This place could be great. We booked well ahead of time, got a conformation email and even emailed the hostel personally yet even though we booked a 8 bed mixed dorm our group was split when we arrived. The mansion is actually one big place and a few house surrounding it. One of which is being renovated and guess what that's the one we were put in. With Only one working bathroom in the whole house for a 18 bed house this was not great. The owners and breakfast are amazing and it doeshave apool.

The staff was so friendly! We really enjoyed our stay, and the pool was a god-send, as it was about 100F during our stay. Our room was large and very comfortable, and despite the heat outside, we were comfortable. Access to a working kitchen helped us save money, and we enjoyed the free breakfast!

I'm not satisfied with the treatment i got over the mansion hotel. It does not seem like a hotel or hostel, but looks like a few set of houses that they are using to raise money, to, what appears, save the houses that keep going in and off auctions. I, personally, Highly not recomend it.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean, spacious and bed was comfy! We had our own bathroom, which was clean as well. The Kitchen was okay, not very well Equipped.. They Said the Area wasnt Safe but i felt Secure. Unfortunately a Bit far from everything but ok to reach with Car. I would come back!

Very friendly place, very laid back and nice staff on hand to help you if needed. There are dogs running around, which is okay if you like dogs which we lucky do! Farly clean, except a few ants did come through my top floor bedroom window. Also a little more organisation could be recommended, we were not told breakfast was offered until one of the last few days.

Very clean hostel, a bit far out from the city but the metro is nearby. Security wasn't great because anyone could have used the patio door to walk into our room from outside. There was coffee and muffins or poptarts there in the mornings which was nice. The kitchen and bathrooms were very clean and the rooms were very spacious and fully air conditioned. Staff were lovely especially Jerome

No staff at all, very bad ambiance, a kitchen but nothing to cook (not even a forks & knives ...) ! Not very clean, unsecure location ... and don't be fooled by the pictures, you CANNOT go to that wonderful swimming pool, nor to the mansion itself ... I clearly do NOT recommend this place !!!
