It's either a boutique hostel or a super-mini resort..... Building a second layer of rooms is only disruptive if you party all night and need the daytime to sleep off your hangover.
The common areas and pool are very nice. Good area to meet other travelers. Staff are fantastic. Rooms are very basic and could use a touch of updating to match the common areas.
This hostel was like a resort! The pool was clean and refreshing, the pineapple daiquiris were delicious as was the food at the restaurant. The kitchen was adequate for cooking. The staff was great! It's located pretty far up the hill so isn't safe to go out after dark. We loved our stay.
Great chill out area with pool, bar, restaurant, pool table, tv and two super-fast desktop computers. Food from the kitchen was fantastic, our only complaint would be the pretty unhappy 'happy hour' where the cocktails halved in size so probably better off stickimg to beers and having the cocktails out of happy hr. Staff also very helpful.
Great hostel. There is air conditioning but they don't turn it on until 10pm and they don't let you have the remote overnight. Bit disappointing but otherwise a great hostel.
We stayed here twice, and both times it was really nice. The staff is so friendly, held our bags while we were in Tayrona, and helped us get buses and taxis when needed. The pool is fantastic, and there is a really nice atmosphere to hang out and socialize.
Awesome hostel with great staff. Don't book any diving with Calypso divers though, ask reception for better alternatives.
Great place to relax. We really enjoyed our stay. Just be careful when out at night time, there were a number of reports of people being approached for their money.
La Masia is an excellent hostel with beautiful rooms, a pool, and fun atmosphere. A good place to relax during the day and have fun at night. Its clean, secure, and the staff were beyond helpful. Cannot recommend this place enough. Only downside I guess is the price. I splurged for a room with AC and ended up finding it a bit too cold while sleeping.

one of the best hostels ive ever stayed at... comfy beds, great pool area, amazing friendly staff... would definitely recommend this place!
Quite good hostel if your looking for party. At least not cozy and more like a ressort. big and clean pool and really good breakfast.
La Masia was more like a resort than a hostel. Great pool, clean rooms and friendly staff. We book to stay a second time after our trip to Tayrona, and they´d stuffed up our booking. There were no more rooms left, however the girl at reception was very apologetic and tried her absolute best to help us! So just make sure they have the right dates booked for you (and triple check). Guest kitchen looked good, food was nice. Air con only goes on from 10pm.
There is really nothing to complain about if you look at the prices and what you get for it. The cleaning woman is around the whole day, the staff organizes you everything, the area around the pool is great! only bad thing was that we got the only dorm without a.c. just ventilators, so some nights were a bit uncomfortable.
