Nice swimming pool and pool table in central common area. Bar tender thinks he is a DJ so at times music is very loud but in general a great hostel with very nice and helpful staff
We loved out stay at La Masia. The staff were wonderfully helpful, the place was very clean and the beds were comfy. We extended our stay because we enjoyed it so much. Small negatives - the wifi was quite slow and the fan was quite loud, but nothing to worry about overall! :)
nice atmosphere with pool, restaurant (good food!!) and bar (with fresh fruit juices). AC works. Rooms are average. On the top of a hill, 10 min walk to beach. Noisy at night (ppl are drinking and yelling). overall great place to stay yet overpriced.
La Masia is like a hostel hotel - the common area that includes a pool is a beautiful place to hang. I noticed that the location score is low on Hostel World, so wanted to say that I think the location is great - only a short walk from the main strip of restaurants and bars. Staff are super friendly and dorm rooms equipped with own bathroom, locker, fan and air con.
La Masia was my fave hostel in my whole 10 weeks traveling South America. The staff treated you like family and went above and beyond for you. The pool was clean. The open communal area and happy hour every night made the atmosphere awesome. Taganga is a really cool little town! I highly recommend. Ps really yummy mango juices at bar too.

It is located a bit up the hill from the center of town, but the walk wasn't too bad. The staff was amazing and very helpful! The pool and rooms were nice.
It's either a boutique hostel or a super-mini resort..... Building a second layer of rooms is only disruptive if you party all night and need the daytime to sleep off your hangover.
