La Pierre Plantée bed and breakfast / chambre d'hôtes accommodation is where you can have a relaxed start to your vacation or for a short break to visit some of the astonishing sights and attractions in this relatively unexplored part of France. Located in the beautiful Dordogne Valley in the Lot of the Mid Pyrenees there is an abundance of new attractions and breathtaking countryside to capture everyone's interest. Souillac 8km and Martel 7km are our closest towns, and we are 10mins by car from the convenience of the A20 autoroute. Ideal halfway location when travelling across France.
A quiet modern single storey accommodation set in oak woods in the hamlet of Bazalgue, in the district of Baladou. The house stands on the crossroads of a walking track. This is marked by a standing stone, which the house is named after. There are many views across the countryside. No passing traffic, dogs are welcome.

La Pierre Plantee accommodates up to 6 persons. All the rooms have views onto the woods,
have fitted wardrobes, linen and towels, and are central heating in winter. There is 1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom and 1 bedroom with two adult bunk beds. There is a bathroom/toilet for the guests use. There is a large garden and a substantial terrace area for relaxing or picnics, use of outside fridge available. Breakfast is served on the patio in fine weather or in the inside dining area. Wi-fi available.

We have the advantage of being on the borders of the Corrèze and Dordogne departments, which means the many attractions of all 3 areas are easily accessible.

In the Lot there is the famous 900 year-old pilgrim town of Rocamadour, plus the amazing caves of Lacave and Padirac.
In the Dordogne you have the Chateau of Castelnaud, with all its intact battlements, or the troglodyte dwellings at the Grottes du Roc de Cazelle.
In the Corrèze you can visit the ancient viscounty capital of Turenne, and call in at the red village of Collanges-la-Rouge.
There are also many colourful markets for local products, at Martel, Sarlet, Souillac and Brive

For activities it is a great area for walking & hiking. We are near to many routes and there are tracks around the area from leisurely to all levels of activity. All the routes are covered by the IGN maps, and for this area the maps are 2136ET and 2036ET.
The Dordogne River is also a wonderful place for canoeing, and fishing permits can be obtained easily. Other activities that can be done are paragliding as tandem or solo with the local school. Go quad bike riding on a designated quad track through the countryside, and lots more.
We are also right on the doorstep of Europes largest and best Cave Diving area. Many of the cave dives are very local and there is an air filling station in the Lot region.

A20 auto route 5km.
Main town Souillac is 8km.
Main town Martel is 7km approx
The nearest shops, bars and resturants are located in the main towns. Personal transport is advised to get around the area.
