The owner of this place is a total sweetheart and welcomes you like you're coming home. It really does feel like your round at your fun relatives for the night. Super helpful and charming!
For one of the few hostels in Chetumal, this one is fairly good. The biggest problem is that there are few restaurants or attractions near to the hostel, but it does have a large supermarket nearby.
The people were very nice and they spoke french, english, spanish and creole so it was easy to understand everything. The place was very dirty so that we didn't take a shower and the kitchen that we could use was also very dirty. They gave us good information about the taxi and how to get to the bus station. There is a big and good mercado near the place.

The hostel is close to a big supermarket. It takes 10 min to the city center by bus. The rooms are clean with fan, and big lockers to put your stuff in. There is a nice kitchen area. The staff is nice and friendly. They should consider to check passports to guest wen they arrive, since there was someone who got robbed right before I arrived.
This is a really good hostel with a great atmosphere. The staff are super-friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good and it's generally a really comfortable and welcoming place to spend time. My only criticism would be the fact that there are approximately 25 beds in the hostel I would think and only one bathroom with no separate toilet. It meant getting a turn in the bathroom could be a bit difficult.
Not many hostels in Chetumal, beds where ok, no hot water, breakfast was not much, but have a kitchen. Kind of a home stay with 3 rooms.
Nice staff, big spacious dorms, but bathroom and some parts above eye-level, was very dirty. An ok stop over, but no place to stay for longer time. Big plus that there's a great supermarket and a few other restaurants nearby!
Uncle and Nephew hosteleers are still trying to get it together here; there are some rough edges but I enjoyed kicking-back with them and talking about jazz music, art exhibitions and performances (in French, English and Spanish), and meeting artsy friends Anabel and Gustávo...I sat-in with him at his gig on the classic "Angel Of The Morning". It's in the quiet-ish San Francisco neighborhood; I walked all the way out there but it's a short ride in a taxi or 'collectivo' Chilly shower-mosquitos!
Don't believe the glowing reviews! There was no Olga or family atmosphere. The location was poor, and the ensuite room we booked was spartan with uncomfortable bunk beds. The bathroom was not private. It was sweltering and when we went into the room, the AC wouldn't work. I asked the front desk person, and he said it would cost an extra 220 pesos if we wanted AC! The leftover uncovered bowls of food in the fridge did not make me want to prepare any food that was available. Not good.
