The staff here are phenomenal. We had issues with our border crossing into Chile, ended up on their doorstep at 1:30am and they couldn't have been more helpful. People have said they had problems with the exchange rate, but we were charged the correct rate and also got a free upgrade on our room due to availability. If we found ourselves in Salta again we won't hesitate for a second in booking La Posada de Don Simón.

Great value if you just need somewhere to sleep! Friendly and helpful owners, nice breakfast, common area is an outdoor courtyard, small kitchen but sufficient. Excellent location in the city (15 peso taxi ride from bus station).

We stayed 1 night here. The staff was above and beyond friendly, however we were not completely satisfied with the condition of our room. There was mold all over the shower and there was some machine (I am assuming a washer) that was very loud and lasted most of the night.

Stayed here with my husband in a private twin room for 3 nights. The hostel is close to everything, only $15 pesos from bus station in a taxi. Staff were very helpful, booked 1 trip with them which was good value. Our room was very clean

This was the cheapest hostel I stayed at while travelling through Argentina, and surprisingly it was also one of the best. Rooms are basic but they have everything one can need, and the property has all the facilities imaginable, from a self-catering kitchenette to tour booking facilities. The place also functions as a small café, and they have a mini-market, saving you the trip to the convenience store. Wifi connection was excellent and it was easy for backpackers to mingle. Highly recommended

I really enjoyed my stay at La posada de Don Simon. It's a quiet, clean, nice place where you can relax and easily plan you excursions in the beautiful area of Salta and Jujuy. The staff makes you feel home and safe, they make everything in order to make you feel comfortable and prices are really cheap.

The family who runs La Posada could not be nicer or more helpful. They gave me some good information on sites to see and were patient with my bad Spanish. I felt very at home and would stay there again next time I'm in Salta.

It´s well located and clean, but noisy because the windows face the hall. They want to charge us more than the price we agree in Hostelworld because they didn´t agree with the price published in pesos argentinos (Even though I explained them I look the prices in pesos, they want to charge me 30 dolar in the un-oficial exchange rate). Above that, they didn´t recognize my 10% deposit argumenting that it was the price HW charged me for the service, althouth I explained I paid 2$ for that.

I was planning to stay 3 nights in the hostel and at the end I spent 5 nights. The atmosphere was so pleasant, the staff is lovely amd I really felt like at home. They also serve you breakfast in the early morning if you have to get up early to do a tour, which is not the case in many other places. Excellent place to stay !!!
