My stay at La Posada de Huertas in Madrid, Spain was OK in all respects but one. I booked a bed in an all-male dormitory through Hostelworld.com's website. I was placed in a large dormitory - and a girl came in to sleep there. I was moved to an all-male dormitory. Still, if you advertise an all-male dormitory, I would have expected management to allocate rooms so that segregation between men and women is maintained. Surely this in everybody's best interests.

This was the noisiest hostel I have ever been too. Barely slept at all. I would not recommend this place especially not I'd you are planning on staying for more than one night!

Good location and high security. Loved the free breakfast however would be nice if the wifi and computers worked properly. Great for a solo traveler like me as there was lots of activities available with other people and hostels. Staff were nice enough and helpful. Cleanliness good however the water runs out in the morning and there was a god awful banging noise with the water pump outside room 202. Water only stays on for 20sec before u have to press the button again which is annoying.

I was very disappointed by my experience at La Posada de Huertas. I've stayed at numerous hostels and this one was by far one of the worst. The restrooms were not clean and the common areas were closed for "cleaning" for half the day. The mattresses and blankets were filthy- I broke out in hives every night from something in the disgusting blue blanket on the beds. The staff was very inappropriate and I did not appreciate the constant advances they made on female travelers. Very poor value.

This was my first time in a hostel, and I was not disappointed. The cleaning staff was very friendly and always working. They don't knock when they enter your room though, which can be a little surprising. The shower was cool/luke warm, but it was hot out, so I was refreshed. The watch keys are a bit awkward at first, but you get the hang of it fast. Everyone was friendly and respectful. I had no trouble sleeping, but I was jet lagged, so if you've got sensitive hearing then bring ear plugs.

This was a very clean, comfortable hostel. A bit on the noisy side when people came back from partying late. The staff was friendly, although I´m not sure if they speak English given I spoke Spanish. Breakfast was a bit on the skimpy side but there are plenty of places nearby to grab some breakfast. Location is good because very close to two subway stations, although this part of Madrid is pretty confusing with the small, winding streets--as long as you have a map you should be good to go!

The hostel is perfect for those who want peace and quiet. Sheets and towels are included and there\'s a locker in each room. It was a cute place but if you\'re into the night life, I wouldn\'t recommend it.

The staff is fantastic, the facility is very clean and also very secure. I felt 100% safe all the time, and clean! It doesn't have too much character, but I would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone going to Madrid that wants cleanliness, safety, and a hostel that is located directly by where all the action is!

All the Rooms are without Windows, also without Chair and Table. No possibility when wether bad. Room for the Breakfast is very unfriendly, all things in plastic cup, plate, knife.

Worst kitchen ever. They only had cups, plates (no bowls, so good luck trying to eat cereal or soup), utensils were all plastic, very wasteful and not environmental friendly at all! They say to name your food, but don't even offer a sharpie! When I asked the receptionist for one, he gave me a text highlighter (??). The Flamenco show was full, the Paella person canceled the night i was there, the drinking game was cool... You have to make your own bed and the blankets are all old. Stay at One.

Good experience. Not the quietest place to stay but you are in the centre of Madrid. What else would you expect? Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about what to do around the city and places to go.
