They only have 1 staff member working the counter so when you need service you often have to wait 10-15 minutes, and even then they are not helpful. They didnt have maps the 2 days i was there and told me they had run out. It does not take 2 days to get new maps, this was just ridiculous. They offered no city orientation and the walking tour and pub crawls they recommend were terrible and complete rip offs as the walking tour guide spoke bad english, and the pub crawl took us to expensive bars.
Good breakfast, good staff, good location
The hostel is great and definitely my #1 choice in Madrid. ( ): Clean, safe, Each bed has a light and a plug in. Free: breakfast, wifi, sangria at night, and free shampoo! The hostel staff was nice and let us use their adapter. Location is great and having a kitchen was so great for saving money. (-): the showers are small with see-through doors making privacy impossible. Also, check-in at 13h30 is late and checkout at 10h30 is early!! Not convenient!!
Great location in madrid, the directions were awful so if you're coming from the metro google first how to get there. Bar crawl wasn't too good, but I would definitly go back.
I returned to this hostel before my departure to Buenos Aires and was way much better than it was when I got to Madrid 2 months before... and thats a lot to say!!! Again a GREAT stay, excelente staff, breakfast included, free sangria from 9 to 10 PMm air conditioning working very good, very clean facilities - including bathrooms - . Would recommend it for sure! Thank you so much for making such a pleasant last stay in Europe before comming back to Argentina!
Security and Location are the best things about this hostel. Cleanliness was average, pretty good for a hostel in Spain!
I like it there. I would definitely recommend the hostel to my friends. The lady n gentleman in the reception are very nice and friendly with good English.
I had a great time here. Stayed at a big dorm. They ave activities every day/part of the day. They clean the rooms every day. Booking online is the cheapest way to do this hostel :)
I had a really great time in this hostel. It's clean, with AC, the reception is friendly, helpful and flexible (hola Hanane, Ibrahim and the ch'timi! :) ), they speak various languages so you won'thave any trouble communicating with them. It's well located in Calle Huertas, close to the center (10min to plaza mayor, 5 to The prado). At night you can hear some jazz in the street, it's quite nice. If you close the window when sleeping there is no much noise.

the showers dont have shower curtains. the windows in the rooms face the hallway, so you always have to keep them closed and there is no ventilation in the room.
I had a 12 person mixed room. It was an army barracks. Plus it was hot as blazes and I'm not sure if it was the girl below me who kept whispering to herself all night, but the room smelled very offensively. I was only there for a few hours before I had a flight out, but one bathroom for a floor of 40 people or so turned out to be an issue. For 11 euros I can't be too choosey, but I think I'll bite the bullet and spend a little more and stay someplace else. The location was convenient
Solid hostel overall, though it was a bit surprising that there was no hot water during my stay--not that it ran out, but that there simply wasn't any. Other than that, the guests are reasonable, the locks are secure, the staff is helpful, and the location (a short walk from Puerta del Sol and less than two blocks from Antón Martín) is excellent and accessible.
great location and atmosphere, friendly staff. close to everything. they organise activities, free walking tours etc. good wifi downstairs, internet portals and well equipped kitchens. breakfast included. no complaints, would definately stay again.
If you need a clean, inexpensive place to stay that is near many of the main sights in Madrid - this is a good place. I have stayed in places that are nicer with more character for the same or maybe a little bit more on the price. As a 23-year-old female staying here I felt very safe and well-cared for. The staff was especially helpful, though could take their time in checking in.
The smoking section next to the kitchen was a somewhat gross juxtaposition, littered with ash and occasionally beer cans but the staff was enthusiastically friendly which is always important. I wish there had been wifi throughout the building but at least it was accessible in the lobby rather than not at all. It was my first hostel experience so I am still weighing its pros and cons but I left a generally happy person. Oh but the lack of hot water did really suck
This hostel smelled of cigarette smoke. Breakfast was toast and corn flakes. The bedrooms got quite stuffy. They offered free printing, which was a nice touch.
