Highly overpriced!!! I payed 49$ for a room with shared bathroom, situated in-between kitchen and stuff room, so it was constantly noisy. Plus, there is a restaurant attached to the hotel, so my bathroom was shared with all the visitors which means that I had to wait a bit to take the shower. I had better accommodation in Bolivia for much less money! I changed it after the first night. Plus is -included is breakfast and one meal (very good one). still in Bolivia 2 meals cannot coast 30$ or so!

So sorry you were not pleased! However, you booked in on a holiday and we always raise our prices (as do most hotels). You received the only room open for that day, one with shared bath as noted on your reservation, You reserved late, only two days before. We urge all foreign tourists to check and see if they are booking their stay on a national holiday and book farther in advance. (Samaipata is full of Bolivians on holidays seeking a long family getaway)We offer free stays for unhappy guests.

The hotel (not a hostel - too expensive for that, and no dorms) is located within a 10 minute walk of town. It's functional not exceptional. The breakfast is OK (you pay more to have more). The internet goes off at night when the router is put away and is not activated until around 0630. The gate is locked (preventing early walks) until the staff wake up. There are more hotels (cheaper too) in the town but they are not on the net hence not indicated on search engines.

1. It takes you 10 minutes to walk downhill 2 blocks to the main plaza? 2. The staff will leave the router plugged in for you until you are ready for us to turn it off. (It is located outside to give better coverage to our large property.) Did you bother to ask the administrator? 3. You paid for a room with an all you can eat breakfast. Why didn't you just ask for more? 4. Your room key comes with a key to the lock at the front gate so that you can come and go as you please.5. Yes we are a hotel.

Thanks for the good review. To keep prices economical we strive for sleep comfort and general satisfaction. That is not average in Bolivia.

Very pleasant place to stay; actually one of the most pleasant places we stayed at during our trip in South America, and by far NOT the most expensive :-) The most healthy breakfast for a nice price. Staff was very helpfull. Nice garden to hang out in. Thanks also to taxidriver Freddy to help us pass a blockade on the road and get to the airport in time! If there is one point for improvement is would be to offer perhaps some more vegetarian options in your restaurant.

Lovely hotel very close to the main square. Great price for a hotel stay, yummy food and cocktails (with regular happy hours) and they helped us to go on a tour to the Andes elbow. Would definitely recommend, only negative is that nobody spoke English

Excellent place to stay!!! The place is beautiful with a fantastic restaurant on the grounds. The staff was very friendly and helpful and went out of there way to make sure that I had everything that I needed. The rooms were spotless (with hot showers) and cleaned daily. Amazing view of the mountains from the grounds. Would definitely stay again!!! Highly recommend!!!!

This posada would be one of the best in South America for value cleanliness and staff friendliness. The restaurant attached has amazing food the best in Bolivia so far.

The location and the surroundings were beautiful. The room was large and clean. However the hot water was temperamental and the wi fi was extremely poor. They also advertised english speaking employees but no one there spoke english. We asked to speak to the owner twice regarding our hot water issue as we were told he speaks english but he never materialised!!! The food was good but you always had to order 3 dishes even if you only wanted one!! They would be better to price individually.

So sorry for the problems! All employees are told to get us on the phone (owners) if there is any problems whatsoever with communication. The shower and wiring in the room you occupied is new. Somebody should have demonstrated how to use it properly. We have never had English speaking employees. We will clarify this on the website. We have soups and salads that are available as 1 item in the restaurant You just have to ask. (We were happy to see you stayed 2 nights past your reservation!)

Positive: Very good restaurant. Negative: Basic breakfast, 'virgin' cocktails and the staff doesn't speak English. But overall perfect hostel!

Incredibly sweet couple that runs the place. The continental breakfast included was better than normally and if you pay extra you get the most amazing breakfast in whole South America. They have everything from american pancakes to youghurt and fruit. The garden is beautiful and you can spend many hours here. No common-rooms or kitchen though, I guess this is more of a hotel than a hostel. One of my best stays in whole South America.

They say they have English speaking staff.there wasnt 1 English speaking staff member. They say they help book tours. There was no help. They say they cook omelettes anytime of the day for u.they had a menu with these and other cheap options stating from7:30am-9:30pm. We were stoked with this until we went to order lunch and they said it was only available for breaky!i had to order off the expensive menu of which most items were 'sold out'. And no DVDs, that's another lie. Wifi doesn't work.

This is an excellent place to stay in Samaipata. It's in a beautiful location only 5minutes walk from town. The rooms are lovely, the staff are very helpful and the food is excellent.

We thought the room was amazing for the price. We had a double with an amazing view for the same price we would normally get a dorm. The garden was beautiful too.

It's quite an expensive hostel for what you get. The American owner isn't very friendly (also to his staff). The breakfast was super minimal, you have to pay extra for almost anything. By far not the best breakfast we had in Bolivia, especially considering the price of the hostel.

We have the lowest staff turnover in Samaipata. Our employees have been with us for years and are always smiling and friendly. This certainly does not come from poor treatment. If 75 Bs a person is expensive for you, you probably were at the wrong hotel. Our breakfast formula, the continental is designed to keep your cost low. You could have payed a bit extra and had a great meal. I was sick with a virus the days you were here. Sorry, but it was hard to appear friendly. I really tried!
