Lucca is a simply wonderful city, and certainly worth a visit. La Torre 1, in a good location is clean and breakfast was welcome. Marco was helpful and friendly. Located in a good part of town - close to one of the towers. The owners were really friendly and the breakfast was really good. Lucca is a fabulous little Tuscan town. We were given another room than that which we had booked but it was a better one! It was in a separate building so we had to walk through the rain to breakfast but we did not mind as people were so friendly. Lucca is a beautifully underatted city and well worth a visit as it has a wonderful safe, laid-back atmosphere and excellent eating places. La Torre is how a B & B should be run with great breakfasts complete with "Mama's" special cake/bread...delicious. Excellent location, wonderful breakfast, friendly staff. The only complaint is that there seems to be only one shower for at least three double rooms, so queues in the morning are unavoidable. We loved staying at La Torre, the staff were very friendly, comfortable rooms, good location and a lovely breakfast!! Could not say nicer things about this B&B or the people who run it. Thoroughly recommend a stay here, absolutely brilliant!!!!! Breakfasts at La Torre were fantastic, family run and very friendly and fun, nothing was too much trouble. Lucca is a wonderful city with lots to offer, and is an excellent base for visiting anywhere in northern Italy.
