The hostel was clean, with a nice back garden and pool, and a nice TV room. The wi fi is also excellent. It was pretty quiet when I was there (early in the week) so the atmosphere wasn't great. It's also located a bit further away from the beachside compared to some of the other places. Good place for a night or two.
An excellent place to stay which has seen me extend my stay three times. The rooms are simple but clean and functional. The pool, kitchen and bar are excellent - simply to best motions I have found outside Cuba. Best the best thing is the staff. All are extremely friendly, knoweledgable and helpful. Am excellent layback atmosphere and really nice other travellers too. Close enough to all the action in Taganaga but far enough to ensure a good nights sleep too.
Taganga is awesome for backpackers, and La Tortuga was perfect for my group as well. We loved the rooftop bar with a view of the beach and mountains, unreal!!! If it wasn't for the rain we certainly would have spent more time up there, and enjoying all the hammocks
La Tortuga Hostel was clean and affordable. The location is its biggest drawback. The rooms have some open windows which allow for neighbors (locals) and their screaming children at all hours to be heard.
The staff is amazing! They are understanding and were very flexible with changing the dates of my stay to accommodate my change of plans. Extremely helpful in organizing my side trip to La Ciudad Perdida and ongoing bus ride to Cartagena. All rooms are ensuites so no lineups for showers. Kitchen, TV room and pool available. Great rooftop bar with a stunning view of Taganga. Only downside were the mosquitoes, but that's not their fault! I would definitely stay here again.
