Not enough (working) showers for all the guests and not enough power sockets in the room, apart from that I was positively surprised by the good value for money. It's really cheap especially when you consider that you get free hot and fresh breakfast and as much tea and coffee as you want. Really appreciated the other offers like free pub crawl, cheap burgers and the Giant's Causeway Tour with pick-up from the hostel.

Lagan was within a relatively easy walking distance from the Europa bus station, and close to several bars in the student district. Atmosphere was social and friendly, a good place to meet travelers, especially as I was alone--a good setup for striking up conversations. Front desk staff very warm and helpful, liked the free breakfast. Rooms were a bit overcrowded, and only one shower for all of us was simply not enough. No designated 'quiet time' late meant I got very little sleep.

small and old building, quite a walk from city center but not too far, the room were small and with no bed light to read. only one bath room per floor, where each one has 2 or 3 rooms. breakfast is ok, the staff are nice but the kitchen and "eating room" aren't the best place in town.

Only 3 bathrooms for all the hostel, very small bedrooms and not cleaned. I wouldn't come back

The mattresses were very poor quality, there was a leak in a bathroom which came into the bedroom, the breakfast was poor quality, one of the showers was out of action another had extremely poor ventilation, heating was inconsistent. The property also in need of a general update. Manager was helpful the other staff member was not.

I loved this place! We were here for 4 nights because the ferry to Scotland kept being delayed. The staff was extra friendly- went out of their way to make you feel at home. The breakfast was fantastic! The bathrooms were so-so but overall I would reccomend.

Alil bit of a walk to central city. Close to train station and nightlife. Staff were very helpful and friendly, give us a map and showed us all the must see attractions in belfast. Great place to meet other traveller's, offers a free pub crawl, free breakfast and a £3 dinner every night. The only negative comment would be that the hostel could do with a few more bathrooms.

There wasn't enough lockers or storage within the rooms for all the guests. Other guests made me feel uncomfortable and the location didn't feel safe after dark. However the staff were friendly and helpful, and the complimentary breakfast was of a high standard. The hostel overall was reasonably clean but the bathrooms could have been cleaner and soap could be provided.

Too saturated the room with 12 beds, needs more space with that price. Showers were broken. Few toilets.

We felt very much like in a family, and had a great stay. Pub crawl with Steven was the best.

A1 staff, lovely breakfast, cozy homey place, nice fresh beds, love the curtains round each bed, movies!...I'd stay again! but... work on those showers (and shower doors). Why not have some low volume music (any kind - even jazz or blues) so we can chat to each other without needing to shout! y

If your going to Belfast you must stay here. One of the best hostels I've stayed at. Wifi isn't always great but the curtains around the bed are excellent, the hot morning breakfast are really good and the staff are absolutely fabulous they make you comfortable and feel like your hanging with family. Special mention to Steve for his pub crawls which run every night and to the new manager who is wonderful so welcoming and easy to talk to. Will definitely be back :)

When I first arrived, the staff, were very welcoming and helpful. the rooms were quite small and beds squished together and there weren't many power points but at least they had curtains. it was about a 20 min walk to city hall.
