Lagans backpackers was a pleasant stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. Cleanliness was average, it wasn't the cleanest hostel I've been to but it was fine. The free breakfast was really good, eggs, bacon, toast, beans and coffee or tea. There was dinner for 2.50 pounds which was good, and a very cheap eating option. The second night they had free seafood paia and free irish whiskey (score!) everyone ate together and had a great time.

A bit far--fifteen minutes walk from the city center, which made it about forty minutes from Titantic Quarter and the Peace Line. Hot breakfast also tends to take awhile to arrive and sometimes they don't bring you the right thing when it does come, so if you're in a rush, ask for the porridge or maybe grab something elsewhere. Some of the outlets didn't work, so I had to get a little creative, but otherwise was fine. Staff were nice, place was clean and quiet. Nice to have a hot breakfast!

Worst hostel I have stayed in and I'm travelling years

Just what I needed for a night in Belfast, cheap dinner and free breakfast. Organised a tour to the Giant's Causeway (cheaper than Paddy Waggon) and pick up from the hostel. Booked a bed in a 6 bed room and got the whole room to myself.

When I arrived at the hostel, I felt comfortable at the first moment. The rooms are really clean and there is enough space for everyone. You can get a locker and a lock for 50pence and that's a reasonable price. The staff is very helpful and nice to talk to. The kitchen is really clean and there is everything you need. Plus you get free tee, coffee and breakfast. The location is good, as you are next to the botanical garden and the city center is just 10 minutes away.

First and foremost, their breakfast rocks. They have a few choices, but it is so worth it to stay here for the food. Their dorms were very clean, and the beds were pretty good. I loved the staff. They are amazing and really helpful. Honestly, I forgot something, and when I sent them an email, they went and found it and shipped it to me. That is above and beyond what I would expect them to do. And the botanic gardens are literally a few blocks away! All in all, excellent!

We stayed two days and during one of them water was freezing to have a shower. Bathrooms were a bit dirty and there were too many noisy people. Nights were pretty cold.

Owner Comment (Show)
Hi All our showers are electric shower and are all working perfectly. I checked again this morning after reading your review. Electric shower dont run out of water. You just need to use them correctly or ask the staff if you cant figure out how to set the temprature or close the bay windows

The hostel staff was very friendly and open to help. Unfortunately we went during a very cold weekend and the heating of the room was very deficient. We also found a very noisy group of girls that made difficult the night. For the price we paid, the location and the staff I would suggest this hostel

The staff was fantastic and extremely willing to help! Plus the breakfast was very filling and a lot bigger than what you find in other hostels. Thanks!

This place is merely OK. There are much much better Hostels in Belfast for the same price. It does have a good atmosphere though, they try to make everything social, and I did meet some great people here.

Really enjoyed it, they overbooked so I got shuffled around a bit, but they were really good about it and it was fine. Would recommend, the staff were cool, tasty cheap food, the breakfast was hot, cooked to order right in front of you and they even had bathmats!

Very good service, very clean and very enjoyable. It's extreme value for money considering you also get a hot breakfast! I'm very impressed. also kitchen is always open for tea or coffee, very convenient, unlike other hostels.Staff were very friendly and very helpful - especially if you're on a budget. There's a daily dinner consisting of a burger and chips, and it's cheaper than anywhere in town. Their recommendations for what to do in Belfast were also great for a small budget. I loved it here!

Hostel was in a fantastic location. Walking distance to heaps of sites. Hot breakfast was cooked to order each morning - sometimes a bit of a wait when only one staff on. The cheap dinners each night are convenient and a great way to meet other guests. Only downside was heating - was always a little on the cold side. The owner quite often (once a week-ish) bring out free alcohol for everyone. We stayed for 6 nights and would stay here again

I had a great stay here. Marie had so much information and answered any questions I had. I loved the hamburger night and how much they encourage getting to know the other people in the hostel. We all got to know each other really well and had a great night out together. The hostel does have an odd smell but you kind of get used to it and the hot water wasn't consistent but those are my only small complaints

The hostel seemed to attract a great crowd of travellers, so was good fun to socialise. The breakfast was pretty good, the beds comfy and reliable internet. On the negatives, the closest bathroom was not particularly clean nor dry and the hostel itself was pretty basic. Still worth the value for money though!

As a single traveler in Belfast, this hostel was a good choice. Staff was very friendly and informative about the highlights of the city and the building was well-maintained. The food was fantastic - both the English breakfast offered for free and the dinners offered cheap. The one negative in my views was location: it was hard to find, blending in with its surroundings. But overall, it was an enjoyable stay and excellent value.
