I really loved my stay in Lagarto !!..its a real big house with a big garden. all in all its a place where you feel very welcome and they give good advice and help and logistics and where you can go in the mountains. The staff is very nice and the two italian owners are great guys. Its in the middle of plantation area so it got a rural country house setting..a nice15 min. walk to bus.. with car its easy..you have vistas of mountains..also the peaks of teide..Gracias Lagarto

a perfect base to start discovering the island! cozy, relaxing, really helpful staff and clean! Amazing and friendly atmosphere, absolutely recommended!

This hostel is just fantastic! Great atmosphere, very helpfull crew and just a great place to enjoy the real life! It's not so easy to find though so make sure you print out directions and ask someone if lost :-).

Very friendly and helpful staff and host. People shared food and chatted freely. Evening meal with wine was friendly social and good value. Feel-good atmosphere. Many suggestions for excursions. VERY out the way. In an agri-industrial area although the Hostel Surroundings gardens pool &c nice. The funny map they offer is misleading as the bus stop is a half hour walk from hostel so tiring with backpack. Vehicles not available for local pick-up although pick from La Laguna available at 18 euros

Hello there, Thanks for your good commentary. Just to say that the bus stop is 10 minutes from Lagarto. We realize local pick up if you tell us before. A big hug from Tenerife.

Of course the atmosphere is very good and friendly, but - you definitely should rent a car (I can´t imagine it without it) and man - one toilet for a whole floor - isn´t it against some hygienic rules? Very nice calm place, very close from the sea. About 1 hour drive (if you understand Spanish driving habits) from Aeropuerto Sur. Sometimes I was little bit lost who belongs to the stuff and who to the guests..)

hello, thanks for your commentary. bathrooms are 2, you should have asked maybe. Anyway, it's a pleasure that you didn't understand who's from the staff and who was a guest, it means we're really like a family. Thanks for everything.

Amazing staff and a really nice atmosphere here at the hostel (qualities hard to find at hostels now) although its a bit remote so a car is kind of essential. The memorable Italian guy who runs the place is an amazing host too!

Quiet hostel with incredible staff and guests. A bit far away from everything.

Very friendly and helpful staff, well equipped kitchen even when cooking for a few more people than usually, lots of facilities to use and great outdoor area but a bit remote and hard to find - you could put up a few more signs pointing to the Hostel, though we thought we lost direction before finally reaching it.

Very friendly staff

The location is a real pain to get to. Their provided hand-drawn map is absolutely NOT to-scale. If you plan to arrive there by bus + foot at night, WEAR REFLECTIVE CLOTHING as you will be walking down a road with zero lights which, surprisingly, has fairly frequent cars. The hostel experience I had was quite poor but I don't think that is the usual. Although I would not stay here again, I encourage everyone to decide for themselves. The STAFF MEAL was the highlight- generous, delicious, & fun!

Lagarto was the right place to be in Tenerife. Away from the unpleasant tourism of the South and located in a very peaceful environment you can easily find your way and activities in Tenerife. Vitto and Mattia can suggest you a lot of place to discover and you can always join the different activities they organise. It was such a great experience to find people from all around and to share our time by deciding morning by morning where to go. Friendly time and parties are a costant of this place.
