Lovely relaxed hostel, very friendly welcome. We stayed in the en-suite double room; was nice and clean. Nice atmosphere at this hostel.

Good except that the kichen is locked till 08.30, so not possible to have anything hot at breakfast or get food out of fridge if making an early start . (which I wasn't on this occasion)

Spent almost a week here at the Lagarto Backpackers Hostel, and it was an awesome time! Mattia,Vitto, Miguel, Fernando and Leire were super helpful in suggesting activities to do around the island. There are so many beautiful places to explore in the North. My only recommendation is renting a car, since the hostel is a bit far from the bus stop. Would definitely come back to spend more time with the people at Lagarto and visit Tenerife again!

Nice staff, friendly people, cute place. Horrible location if you don't have a car. Literally a 20 minute walk up a hill to the bus station. If we did the trip again we definitely would have stayed somewhere more central. But beautiful area, surrounded by green mountains and coastal views.

Great chilled hostel. A little bit remote, which is good if that's what you want or you have transport.

The hostel was a bit tricky to get to, specially at night. But the garden and the trees more than made up for the lost time :)

Mattia and Vitto run an AMAZING hostel in Tenerife near Tejina. We had a a great time here. One of the best hostels ive stayed at (I have stayed in many around Europe!) The place is perfectly set up for a relaxing and comfortable stay. Each rookm very clean and with ensuite for dorms.....the best hostel bathrooms i have ever seen. There is great breakfast and a HUGE kitchen. The back yard has a pool and slack line. The staff top it off and make it super special. Miguel,Leyre and Fernando thanks!

We arrived by bus to this hostel and it wasn't a problem, since the staff is the most helpful of any hostel.

A really great hostel with a great vibe! As I've read in the other reviews you should have a car if you are visiting this hostel, however, it was in a peaceful location very close to the ocean, so it's still nice! The owners of the hostel are really great and go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need. It's clean, spacious and welcoming, I recommend it!

Nice place with spacious rooms and swimming pool in the backyard. However, breakfast starts at 8:30 am, which is too late if you plan a day trip to another place using public transport. I had to wait to go to the toilet a few times, because there is only one public bathroom containing toilet and shower.

Owner Comment (Show)
Hello there. As the breakfast is totally included in the price, when someone decides to plan an excursion to another place the best thing would be to buy your own breakfast or to have breakfast in some of the public bars you can find outside. Public bathrooms are 2, maybe you did not see the second one, but just asking us we would have told you. Thanks anyway for your commentary, a big hug from Tenerife !

It was one of the most amazing hostels I have ever been to. The two italian owners Vitto and Mattia are great guys. Not only are they very helpful but they felt more like family to me after the first couple of days. I extended my stay cause I did not want to go back to the other hostel in the south any more and enjoyed every single day there. The hostel has a very special vibe, it's in a very green place and they even have a pool. I was able to relax and meet so many great new people there.

PROS: Excellent staff with great recommendations. Great breakfast. Good communal facilities. CONS: Get there in the day - It's extremely hard to find in the dark. Floor a bit dirty. Could use another toilet. Heaps of flys in the room.

Lagarto is a wonderful place to stay! The staff is very welcoming and helpful and they have done an excellent job creating a real community feel. There was always something going on to get involved in if you wanted and the space makes you feel at home and comfortable.
