Great location overlooking the lake. Very helpful and friendly staff. Good atmosphere. The town of Mennagio is well positioned for hiking and for ferries. Easy to get to Lugano in Switzerland by bus. A day ferry ticket for 15 euro visits many of the interesting towns on the lake, including Bellagio, Varenna and Lenno.

Great staff, wonderful location, unbelievable value for money (especially in pricey Lake Como) - and the story about the origin of the hostel is interesting too. Go stay there, hire a bicycle, and help them out as they are the only remaining budget place to stay on the whole lake.

May be the best hostel in the world! Start with it's breathtaking location overlooking Lake Como with a view better than any 5 star hotel, add great amenities such as a top shelf chef who prepares delicious meals each evening, great security, cleanliness and the best hostel owner/manager in the business; Fabio....who understands what travelers want and need in both lodging, fun activities and above all affordability. You can't miss with La Primula in Lake Como. Alan Los Angeles, CA

Dont just book one night! The view of the lake is breathtaking and you'll want to stay longer! Staff are friendly, welcoming and very knowledgable of the area. The bar is cheap (4euro50 for a liter of vino!) and restaurant is very affordable. Loved my stay here and will be back without a doubt.

This is incredible value for money given the location. How about charging a bit more for a bed and then making internet, kayaks, etc free to guests.

Extremely clean hostel with an excellent view of the lake.Helpful staff and we took an enjoyable sailing class with Toby. Hours are a bit limiting as they close in the middle of the day from 2-5 and at midnight.Recommend that the charge for Wifi be built into the price of the room.

This hostel was wonderful, I highly recommend it. This was my second time staying there, the staff genuinely cares about your stay and goes out of their way to help in any way possible to help you plan your trip. The location is incredible right on beautiful Lake Como! Beware of using GPS! It might take you to the wrong place on the Lake.

I had a great time at this hostel, the staff were lovely and the view is stunning (even in the rain). Only slight critisicm is that the showers arent great, and the hot water seems to come and go if you are showering at an odd time. But the atmosphere is brill and I met some great people. The food and drink is really cheap and mostly of good quality. I would definately recommend this hostel to anyone looking to see the lakes without the money for a posh bellagio hotel!
