The room was overcrowded - I booked beds in a 6 person dorm and was instead placed in an 8 person dorm, which had too many beds for its size. The facilities were very basic and not very nice.
Facilities/linen were basic, but I loved this place! Fabulous staff, atmosphere & tours/advice available. Will definitely recommend!
The staff here are so lovely- it feels like home. They also love to belt out Xavier Rudd from the common room speakers- perfect place to chill and enjoy a beautiful area.
Best hostel experience so far, def worth the trip from Comp. Good vibes and great food. Very good value. Cheers!
The location is perfect. Close to the ferry and bus stops. The dorm rooms do not lock so you have to lock all valuables in the locker since the entire hostel can potentially walk in your room. There were a lot of spiders in the bathroom.
The view was amazing and the dinner is great value for money and tastes great, however I wouldn't recommend getting the bacon and eggs in the morning as it is not worth the additional money. Overall a great experiance here, it couldn't be in a better location.
This hostel is in an amazing location and that's pretty much all that saved it. It says that they supply linen , all the pillow cases had holes in them. We got put in a different room than we booked, one at the back of the building, with no view. Right next to the security light for the door below leading into the hostel. So we had that light clicking on and off all night. The breakfast is average and it's full of children.
Room doors don't lock but on the other hand, nothing was stolen during my stay. Great views but long commute into main part of the lake (more of a public transport issue). Staff sometimes helpful, sometimes not. A bit of a hippie vibe to the place. Building has moved due to location, so doors don't shut properly. Overall, a no frills hostel except for the views.
It was a wonderful hostel. I had a great time and met really cool people.
If you are looking for an amazing time during your travels, go here! The place is relaxing and very exciting at the same time! Loved the suggeestion of taking the slow ferry from Como on your first day, it is a great way to start your stay there! The people are very friendly, the place is clean and the food (and wine!) are of good quality and very cheap! Leaving was the worst part of being there :)

My three friends and I absolutely LOVED this hostel! Situated in a small town in Lake Como facilitated a nice community vibe, with dinner being served altogether, and lots of interactions between guests. We especially appreciated all of the activities offered (kayaking, canyoning, cooking classes) and the fact that you could buy authentic Italian dinners for a reduced price at the hostel. The wifi was also strong and the staff were excellent!
Overall good hostel! Need more outlets in the rooms, but otherwise good!
The hostel was great with amazing staff. It would be great if they had a fridge for guests to use and my concern is the door on the backside of the hostel was rarely closed which is a security issue with the unlocked rooms.
Had a great stay at this hostel, the location is just right outside of Menaggio and was easy to find. The bathrooms and showers are so small they are almost insufficient, and were slightly dirty. Spiders in the female showers. The environment was fun, with lots of things going on and a great vibe, everyone who worked there was friendly and the homemade meals were delicious. It was the most expensive hostel I have stayed at, and had the worst accommodations, but was very doable.
I stayed in a 8 bed dorm with a great view of lake como. There's a beach nearby and it's a very nice spot. I hiked the rifugio menaggio and it was amazing, i just hoped that i stayed here longer.
Things were moved in our room every day, cleaners only emptied dustbin, staff would stand outside or window talking and laughing until 2am. No facilities to cook or prepare your own food. The shower was tiny and we had to pay for four because they didn't have a twin room.
This is a really great hostel- I would recommend it! However just as a heads up you won't have any access to kitchen facilities since the hostel is also a restaurant/licensed premises.
We had a great stay here, the town it's in which is called Mennagio is gorgeous! It had everything you needed from cafe's/restsurants/ a supermarket and even a lido so you can relax in the sun. The common area is closed from 2-5pm in the hostel which can be very annoying if the weather isn't great as you don't necessarily want to sit in your room. However Lake Como is a very expensive place to stay and this hostel makes is backpacker friendly.
The view from the common room is reason enough to stay here! I loved it's location in Menaggio especially. Friendly staff, and fun atmosphere.
Lovely location. Friendly atmosphere. Helpful staff. Poor bathroom facilities- not the cleanest in that area
