I was looking urgently for somewhere to overnight on my way home from a holiday abroad. The staff were friendly and welcoming, not just to me, but other travellers staying over. The only problem I had was with the heating system for the water in the shower. Its complicated to use if you don't know how it works and I had a cold shower on a very cold winters day :( I highly recommend Lakeview Backpackers

LakeView is a fantastic place to stay. I felt like coming back to home as I had the base there. Was able to move around and help with cooking and is an excellent place. Ronel was so sweet. Fell in love with the place.

We booked through this webpage. They were not aware that we were coming. The place has a cool seventies vibe, but it is not clean. We found a lot of hairs in our beds - seemed like the sheets had not been washed.

Super friendly staff. Very clean, safe, spacious grounds. The 4 dorm room didn't seem to have too many outlets to charge things, but around the other rooms you can find some. The lake and park nearby are also beautiful, if you have some time, but not enough to go out to the city.

What an awesome group of welcoming, friendly, interesting people running a charming backpackers! They took excellent, personalized care of us, were approachable but not overbearing. A fun, low-key atmosphere. The grounds are well set-up to provide quiet places to hang out, or places to gather/share some good times around the pool, outside bar, or tv room. Rooms provided enough comfort & quiet for a good night's rest. Facilities are all in good repair and adequate, although upgrades are planned.
