Would recommend as a good place to sleep and explore, not so much to socialize as there is not much of a common area (just a smoking area outside) Hostel is cleaned daily which is nice. The staff are all very friendly.

Great location (a block from Bondi Beach), but extremely small and crowded conditions and no social vibe. It is privately run, so there is no backpacker social life. Although all rooms have a TV, they don't have lockers and are extremely cramped and hot (there was a fan). There are private bathrooms, and decent laundry facilities. Wifi is offered for purchase, but at a ridiculous price for the amount of data offered. Kitchen is small, but not many people were staying there when I was there.

A great location, so close to Bondi beach. Was great for what we wanted and would stay here again. Rooms were a little hot but nothing too unbearable. Toilets and showers were always clean!

Bed wasn't that conformable as the mattress was very thin. Great location as it is right near the beach and shops. In a quiet street. Had to pay deposits for cutlery and the kitchen was quite minimal. Fridge in you room which is good and TV. Toilets are in with the showers so you have to wait a while to use one.

The only thing I did like about this hostel was its location close to Bondi beach. They gave me a different room than I had requested (4bed female to a 3 bed male?) I was also on a top bunk with no ladder so I had to use a flimsy stool to get into bed. There was no where to lock personal items, i just had to trust my roomates, which is hard when the hostel doesn't have an atmosphere that allows you to easily meet people. The worst part was the red (possibly bed bugs) on the ceiling above my bed.

Booked this hostel over the Christmas period. Was such a disappointment. There was no atmosphere in the hostel and the staff seemed to have no interest in it's guests. You can't drink anywhere in the hostel! We weren't allowed even a glass with our Christmas dinner!! I would only recommend this hostel for short stay if you want to be near the beach but don't expect it to be a party hostel, it's far from.

I really enjoyed at Lamrock Lodge and not far from Bondi Beach. Staff is very corporative and I prefer to stay here again next time,

Great location very close to Bondi beach. The desk staff were very helpful. The rooms were smallish and the facilities a bit run down. The bathrooms were cramped and there wasn't enough of them. A fair bit of money needs to be spent to revamp the place. Very noisy in the evenings as well and any hallway conversatons can be overheard. Not a great place if you have small kids or if you want to sleep.

Run by a family that uses the kitchen etc, makes you feel like an intruder. They are nice, receptionist helpful etc. But an unpleasant vibe. There is no patio or bar or rooftop or so where you can hang out. Found cockroaches in our room.

Really bad hostel! Rooms smell, are cold and dirty and the whole building needs a lot of work. There where what seemed to be a lot of homeless people staying there, the kitchen had no oven, just 4 old hobs and you had to rent knives and forks and plates yet they only had a few of each left so 5 of us had to share 2 sets. Just the worst.
