Problem #1 was finding the place with their ridiculous directions (I have navigated all Europe and these were the only difficult directions I have had). It isn't in the best part of town unless strip clubs are where you like to hang out on a tuesday night. The staff was relatively unhelpful and to top it all off the place was just ridiculously overpriced for what they gave you. I have paid $8 for a better hostel. Not that this place was terrible (except for the street noise every night)

One of the nicest hostels I've ever been to, even though the prices are very typical for Zurich and you have to pay a deposit (20 CHF/EUR or your ID) for the key. The reception is downstairs at a bar/café which seems to be popular even among local people. The backpacker breakfast (10 CHF) is definitely worth the money!

Its a great hostel for a rich and expensive city like Zurich. The staff are nice, but you have to get accustomed to the fact that you are asking for help from a barista/bartender attending his job, so just be patient, although they're very quick. The hostel is located in a probably the most diverse part of Zurich, so that means you will see a mix of people. There are many bars and clubs on that street, so night life is pretty much downstairs.

Zurich parties well into the morning so don't plan on sleeping if you're a light sleeper Great fun though and great outlet access in lockers Free welcome drink and chocolate as well :)

I loved this hostel, having your own showers in the bedroom for 12 is a privilege. It was clean, the staff was excelent. Kitchen in the room too. I really enjoyed staying there. The neighborhood is not that bad as someones said. If you no are into the business nobody will bother you.

Very compact hostel, with a good location. Friendly and helpful staff. The entrance system makes the hostel very secure, lockers are quite big enough for heavy luggage.

I had a very pleasant stay, met a lot of wonderful people. Location was within a walkable distance from old city and Zúrich HB station and the Hostel Street is where the nightlife is!

Really hot in Geneva, no ac. The hostel is huge so it's easy to make friends Location is alright, easy to grey around because of the free public transit card they give you when you check in. Overall good, would recommend if you're a simple traveler

A fine hostel for Zurich. Very loud from the street noise. Quite far from my points of interest

great staffs, nice location. BUT too much noise in the middle of night. they run the hostel and a bar together(bar=reception) I couldn't sleep becaus of the noise. I had plans to do in the morning..... If you like to gather all together and enjoy drinks it would be a nice place to visit.

Staff was more into the coffee shop than the hostel. They very rarely if ever change he bed sheets and make you sleep in a "sleeping bag" so you won't sleep on the dirty sheets. It's pretty gross when you think about how many people have touched those sheets and your only protectant is a sleeping bag made from a sheet! Yikes!

Good stay for sure. Cheap as you're gonna get in Switzerland, the staff are cool, the facilities are good. Only thing is no aircon or fans and I had a hard time sleeping it was so hot. Other than that a quality stay

A good stay - rooms are a bit small but what they lack in size they make up for in electrical sockets - you will have no difficulties finding places to charge your goods in your room! There are big lockers provided, and a common room to chill out in, good wifi plus the cafe downstairs is one of the only European spots selling a decent coffee by Australian/NZ standards, and not to mention a reasonably priced breakfast, which is very welcome in Zurich! Staff are friendly and accomodating too

There was only one bathroom on the top floor (for 12 people or so), that was probably the biggest problem I had. Nothing too out of the ordinary here. The hostel isn't near the center of the city, but walking isn't terrible. It's about 15 minutes to the center. You have to go into the cafe to check-in.

The hostel is a close enough walk to historic town if you don't mind walking 30 minutes. The trams and buses are closer though. We suggest you ring your own lock for the lockers. It was a decent stay.

The place needs Air Conditioning real bad. It was hot as hell at night and everyone struggled to sleep. One important thing though, place is in the red light district of Zurich so it is really loud at night and feels a little shady at times. If you are not looking to spend a lot of time and just need a bed and a place to crash, it is not bad though.

I would definitely recommend this place to single travellers. The bar/café made it very easy to meet new people. I really liked the location. I found everything within walking distance. Cool vibes, plus you get a free beer every night. Only downsides were the light in the bathroom didn't work & the rooms were super hot.

The hostel was really nicely laid out, had a good atmosphere. Be sure to check out the beers and food in the café downstairs! The staff was really helpful and they all spoke English. My only qualm was with the restrooms. They had cleaning stuff stored in them and there was one toilet, two showers for 12 people on my floor.

We were very lucky: the one night we were there was a massive street festival and langstars was right in the middle of it. Langstars itself was having concerts in the bar area downstairs. If you're not looking for a party kind of hostel don't stay here. But if you are then this is a great place with a welcoming staff.
