Very well-located in the middle of Zurich's red-light/party district just 10 mins walk from the main train station. The bar downstairs (Cafe Kiwi) gives you a free drink each night, and the atmosphere is great. Staff are superbly helpful and only complaint would be the lack of hot water for the shower. (5 mins supply with a 15 minute wait in between showers to heat up again.) Noise at night from the nearby clubs can be a problem though. Would stay here again.
It`s weird making the check-in at the bar and if you arrive on a weekend it´s full. No the best idea if you are tired from traveling... Nevertheless the staff it´s very friendly and everything was clean

Great hostel with cafe/bar underneath. The place had a great vibe and often musicians played at night. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Although the staff were friendly and helpful this doesn't make up for the fact that this is a poor hostel. Rooms not well cleaned and bedding inadequate. Not safety rail on the top bunks is quite dangerous. The window didn't close properly which meant the room was both cold and extremely noisy with a busy street below.
Room was very nice and warm. Free drink every night was very nice and good way to get people to socialize. Common room on 3rd floor was mostly people sleeping. Pricey but seems to be in line with Zurich prices.
1. Toilet is very dirty. (With much hair, dust, etc.) 2. The hot water is not enough. 3. The bed is not clean. 4. The heater is not warm enough. 5. Does not have enough signs to tell the people to get into the bar to check in. I found the correct address, but there were many people in the bar, so I had no idea where I should find a hostel staff to do check in. 6. Expensive price but not even including a simple breakfast.
When me and my friend arrived to check in, we needed to wait like 15 minutes cause the check-in guy was the only bartender of the bar. The sheet of the bed was a bodybag like and the most absurd is that there was no hot water for bath. Completely not worthy the money.
The neighborhood was not the nicest but the hostel was fairly secure. It was confusing who was hostel staff and who were the bar staff. The sheets were also unusual-kind of like a quasi-sleeping bag sheet. It was also the most expensive hostel I've stayed in but we did get a free drink though so that was a plus!
It was very loud late into the night because of music from the bar downstairs, but the room was clean and comfortable.

Friendly staff, clean room, was a bit quiet whilst I was there so not much of an atmosphere. Prices reasonable for Switzerland. Safe location within the red light district, 15min walk from train station. Chargers in the lockers are brilliant! Only two negatives - 1 they provide a cotton sleeping bag to sleep in which isn't ideal and 2 the toilet is in the same room as the shower so if one of the 12 people on your floor are using the shower you can't go to the toilet.
The property was fine, but for the cost it should have been much better. The atmosphere is only the bar which is fine. I was horrified by the "sleeping bag" that was two pieces of awful canvas like fabric sewn together. I was tangled in it all night, still touching the bottom sheet and comforter that are clearly not washed between stays. It is hard to sleep when you feel like the bed is dirty and it is that uncomfortable. The staff was very friendly and nice and willing to help with directions.
Beds were incredibly squeaky but the room was otherwise quite cozy. I had a very mixed experience with staff: at least one member was very rude/abrupt, but others were kind and helpful. Free drink on check-in is a nice touch, and helps make up for the fact that you are checking in at a bar.
Stayed one night on a Sunday, and it was very quiet. Had a good night sleep.
Horrible experience!! No assistance from any staff at all. Didn't even want to answer a simple question. The young male staff tried to hit on every female guest. I paid more for female dorm, but hey put a man in a private room where the female dorm rooms are. Many times the man came out from his room with nothing on but a towel. Scared the female guests because no one expected to see a guy in the dorm. Not enough hot water! It ran out of hot water when I was half way thru my shower in winter.
Great hostel, has a kiwi cafe/bar downstairs with a fun owner and this is a great place to meet people, have a drink and listen to live music/jam sessions. Surprisingly there is not much noise in the rooms from the music downstairs which is great as well. The rooms were nice with two ensuites in the 14 bedder. Pretty close to everything but located in what seems like the red light district of Zurich (although I had no issues walking around at night by myself, felt like a very safe city).
Langstars was great. I was lucky enough to be there on a Saturday night and there was live music. Staff were excellent, warm and welcoming. Will definitely stay there again.
One toilet for a whole floor is brutal. Beds are pretty comfortable. You get a free drink from the bar your first night. Wifi worked well in rooms.
Large mixed dorm on the top floor has its own kitchenette and eating area and is relatively quiet. WiFi works great and there are tons of outlets everywhere. Each bed has its own light. Staff is really friendly and helpful! Hostel is in the rowdy part of town but perfectly situated for walking everywhere. Can't get a better place for less in Zurich.
The hostel was nice, big storage lockers with outlets inside, each bed had outlets and a lamp, cozy common area, nice bathrooms. I enjoyed my stay!
One of the best hostels I've stayed at. Cafe down stairs had a great atmosphere, with live bands playing each night. Complimentary croissant and beer each day as well as terrific meat pies available to buy for lunch.
