Only stayed here one night and couldn't wait to leave. The rooms were boiling hot as the 'air-conditioner' was in fact a crappy floor unit that leaked and provided no cooling whatsoever. It was so extremely hot in the top bunks my friend had to lie on the floor. Also the power cut out three times in one night and there was a really bad smell near our room.

Exceptional location, right in the centre of Lapa and the nightlife. Had a great time in this hostel!

The staff are very helpful, it's clean, there's a delightful cat that lies around, the kitchen is sufficient. The only thing one can fault the hostel on is it's location. It's 3kmsorso from major tourist attractions, although there's a bus stop near by from which buses can be caught to these places, so it's not so bad. When I was there, there were a few power cuts, but hopefully they've fixed that. On the whole, recommended.

The place offers a nice breakfast. Cozy atmosphere where you can meet many people form many different places. The satff was always helpful and the location was fantastic. Close to historic venues, restaurants, bars and transportation.

I enjoyed my stay at the Lapa hostel for sure. The staff is amazing and involved, and the location couldn't be better if you like to explore the nightlife of Rio. The 20bed dorm is very doable - they have made small sections so you don't have the idea you share the room with 19 other people. Definitely stay here if you like to explore the nightlife!

Unbelievable location, right around the corner from the Lapa street party without being loud. Really clean bathrooms and great showers. Comfy beds, new sheets. Amazing staff, took us out and showed us the real Rio! Free self service caprianhas!! Felt a lot safer there than Ipanema or Cocacabana at night!
