Very friendly, homely feel, super welcoming staff.
Small and quiet. Wants to be a bit louder but doesn't really have the people or the facilities. It has a bar but that is right next to where the dorms are.
The small dorm room size was nice. The beds and linen were excellent. The breakfast was good but small. The bathrooms were a bit dirty. The free water was very good. The WiFi was good. needs lockers.

It's a nice little place. The staff are friendly and helpful and there are tours available (although you should always shop around for tours) they orgainise a few things like music nights or quizzes but are always at other hostels. The hostel is just a place to stay tbh not much in the location but if that's what you want it's great! Pretty cheap.
Stayed there for 3 nights and had a good time! Esp. the atmosphere was great..!
Great hostel! The staff (especially JC) was very friendly and helpful!
We enjoyed a wonderful 4 night stay at the Latina. It's close to everything without being noisy Our room was clean and comfortable. They have activities nightly if you want to go and a shuttle daily to Las Penitas beach. There was a kitchen, refrigerator, and cute little bar if you drink. The staff was wonderful and when we come back to Nicaragua we will definately stay longer here.
Really lovely place! Quiet and chilled, with really friendly staff and a nice courtyard with hammocks. And great value - cheap, with breakfast included. Located a few blocks away from the central bit but easily walkable.
Nice clean place, though a little bit outside of the main parts of town.
Latina hostel is really cheap with awesome accommodations. We had free coffee, a pancake, and banana every morning. Also the accom of a community kitchen that was clean, including a big clean as fridge to store food and the kitchen was big. Lots of chairs and tables to sit at in the court yard with hammocks, as well. Dorms are standard but clean and had fans It's a quiet, chill atmosphere that is homey. Open bar as well for cheap drinks. Overall, I love this hostel.
Latina Hostel was super cheap & included breakfast. The bathrooms were cleaned regularly. There's hammocks to chill out in & the wifi works reasonably well most of the time. During my stay, there wasn't any atmosphere to speak of, but Leon was just a stopover on my way to Honduras. There's quite a lot of street noise at night. Juan Carlos was a great help with booking an onward shuttle bus to Honduras, but not many other staff could speak English & my Spanish is poor!
The location is a lot further out than the other hostels, and Leon is boiling hot so walking far isn't fun. The girl who checked us in was really nice, and the boy behind the bar was cool, but the older woman who we assumed owned it was extremely rude, really made us feel uncomfortable. The dorm room was a tiny sweat-box, and had no lockers. This place was really cheap but even with that considered we definitely wouldn't stay again, and wouldn't recommend it either.
