Best hostel I've ever been to. Free breakfast and free fruit. They wash your clothes for you!!! The hostel workers even helped me find an apartment. The vibe is great. I've met lots of cool guests here. Courtyard is a wonderful place to hang out. It's close to the center, a market, a Spanish school, and a yoga studio. The place is not sparkling; it's as clean as the average hostel, but that's not Latina's fault. Leon is a very dirty city, and I see Alesca cleaning constantly. Great value 4 $

Great hostel with a lovely garden and bar with lots of hammocks. The small size and friendly staff create a really sociable atmosphere. The owner and staff are really genuine, fun and helpful. The (fairly young) owner took us to the beach and out salsa dancing. Dorms are clean and beds comfy. You get your own fan and light. Breakfast is good and there is a full kitchen. Wifi is fast and free water. Overall I couldn't improve it :-)

Very nice atmosphere, helpful and kind owners who speak a perfect english. Grab an avocado or a mango from the trees in the garden, wifi available and free, tasty fruit salad/breakfast (you'll need more if you're hungry but it's perfect otherwise). Stayed in the dorm, comfy beds, individual fans. Overall cleanliness is fine, the shower could be a little cleaner (again, for backpackers no probs). Would definitely stay there again!

We really liked our stay at Latina Hostel. The staff and outdoor area are really nice and the dishes aren't a century old like in some other hostels (although there could be more pots). The main thing we didn't like was the lack of furniture in our room. There was nothing but a bed. A cupboard or table or just anything where you can put your stuff would be nice.

Lovely stay at Latina, small hostel with really friendly staff, nice garden with hammocks, wifi, laundry, banana pancakes in the morning and bar. 24 hour security too and only 5 minutes walk from the main sights and bars

No place is the Ritz when you stay in hostels. I fined that if the staff are good and they give you clean sheets that's all you need.

Alesca was the one bright spot with the cuteness of the place. The other staff didn't have a clue. Bartender was more interested in entertaining herself than anything the guests might like. Played bass thumping music with no regard for time or the enjoyment of guests. The facilities checked off on hostelworld are almost all incorrect. I think when they checked off facilities on hostelworld they checked everything. There is no one there that understands English regardless of what they say.

I really like it at the hostel and we ended up staying for three nights. The staff were just lovely. All very friendly and helpful. Free breakfast, free wifi and free washing! Big garden area with plenty of seats and hammocks and it all felt lovely and chilled. Great place to stay!

Good value for money and really good people running it, only bad thing was the lack of hocks or chair to place cloths etc we had to have everything on the floor

Great place, lovely people, appreciated that it wasn't with all of the other tourist hostels but still really close to everything. The only negative feedback I have is that I booked a room in an all-female dorm, and halfway through my stay they put a man in the room. When I pointed out it was an all-female dorm and that I booked the dorm for that reason they said "oh it's only for one night". Very inappropriate. They should not advertise it as an all-female dorm.
