If you want to blow out your ankle knee or hip stay here: the rooms are 60- COUNT EM 60 STEPS UP. When you go up and down to your room 5 to 8 times a day your body will pay.. i AM NOW RECOVERING FROM LAVENDAR lODGE. . This owner needss to be more customer conscious. A piece of toast for breakfast...come on!

Good location near the restaurants and markets. Clean room, showers and toilets. Room cleaning every day. At breakfast, toasts and bananas are served to you (you do not cook, you do not clean the dishes) + real Borneo coffee, not instant. Daniel (the boss) can teach you lots of things about Kota Kinabalu's history if you are interested. Wifi available but not be strong on 3rd floor. Great place to stay in KK! :)

Great value. Staff really helpfull and friendly. Only problem, and I hate to say it, we had a ground room double, and every morning of our stay were woken up around 5 by people leaving for early flights etc. Not the hostels fault.

Lavender Lodge is clean, safe and all the staff are very helpful and friendly. I travelled solo but really felt secure and safe. Just wanna suggest maybe to put a shower in the ensuite room. But overall, it was delightful to have stayed at Lavender Lodge.

The staff was amazing! Showed us where to go and when my girlfriends and I got in really late a member of the staff brought us to dinner to make sure it was open and we wouldn't get lost then went back home. So much good info inside the hostel, free wifi, good free breakfast of toast, delicious coffee and bananas, and computers available for your convenience. I can't stress enough how amazing the staff was, when I go back I will stay here!

This was probably the cleanest hostel I've ever stayed in. Rooms and facilities were cleaned constantly. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great recommendations for dining and getting around. I would definitely stay there again.

Good location and friendly staff but there's better value to be had in KK in hostels with more life to them.

The staff very friendly and helpful. The rooms (2 different rooms) were clean and cozy. Though I didn't expect hotel-like room, but the room can give fair competition to a more expensive hotel room. Recommended.

Room had no window and sort of dingy vibe, but it was clean and the staff was really nice.

I am biased but I LOVE this hostel. Stayed here for 6 nights total. AMAZING and helpful staff (Nora, Daniel and Jenny). They are willing to help you with anything at all! Give awesome advice and recommendations. Very very very friendly. Clean towels and room every day. Simple breakfast of toast and tea/coffee/juice. Air con in rooms and decent beds. Easy walk to Chinatown and good restaurants. Jesselton Point is a bit further away but still easy walking distance. Will stay here if I'm ever back!

The hostel was very clean and the staff was very nice and helpful! We stayed in a private room with private bath & AC, WMD we were spoiled! If you decide to stay here and want to join any tours, book it through the front desk. They had the best price for the river cruise, almost 100 Ringgit cheaper!!!
