Great hostel with a fantastic location right in the middle of the Latin Quarter. Easy access to bus, movie theater, restaurants etc. Sleeping in the dorm area was very pleasant--no late night noises or anything which made it hard to sleep. Also very clean and great complementary linens.

I liked the hostel and its location is great! My only advice is to improve the service of breakfast, it's not well-organised.

The Good: Great location; most staff were very friendly and helpful; dorm room and bathroom were good sized and clean; plenty of social stuff for those interested. The Bad: Beds really are uncomfortable, you can feel the wire frame poking through into your back; the guy who works mornings was very unpleasant to deal with on the several occasions we needed to; AND he charged us $4 each to store our luggage until 11.30am on the day we left - only half an hour after your check out time!!

Great little hostel in the Latin Quarter. Close to everything - shops, food, sights, subway, etc. We stayed in two different sized dorms, each with en suite bathroom. Even the 12-bed dorm felt like a smaller dorm, as there was a divider midway through the room. The beds could use new mattresses. The staff were very helpful and enthusiastic. Also, they were accommodating to late arrivals.

Location: right in the heart of nightlife in st Denis and about 15-20 min walk to the malls and crescent st staff : very fun in making the hostel unique in adding nightly events. They're a good team. place: its not bad. Split in two parts with common tv area in back. Bedding isn't bad and it's easy to sleep. Kitchen needed a good cleaning and they do lack soap which is important. French and English didn't hang together much. Apparently someone didn't like Americans and they lock excessively

Am still enjoying my stay at Le Jazz St-Denis Montreal. Warm and friendly atmosphere. Fantastic! Will send photos that I have taken and write small article when I have more time. Have to go to Montreal New Film Festival. Jean A. Vachon

The worst hostel experience any of us have ever had. Staff were unhelpful and unwilling to go out of their way for anything for the guests. Room allocation system was completely disorganized. Our group was split into two rooms at 1am, after beds had already previously been allocated. The following evening the hostel was very reluctant to move us into the same room, despite having promised to do so early the same day. The hostel security was generally poor. Would not recommend this hostel at all.

It's in a great neighborhood if you want to party...also it's pretty quite for being in a busy street.

Beds and 'plastic matresses' were very uncomfortable. The door in the bathroom had a broken lock and would swing open, not hard to fix I don't think. The guy on reception was useless with any questions, even basics on local area. No maps etc. THere was a queue of 10 people for the room bathroom one morning, fair enough, but I went to reception to ask if there was another toilet and was told no (there was I later found). Ignored my emails about check in time. TERRIBLE

The hostel was great, but you may want to pay more attention to the cleanliness of the bathroom

Could be a very nice hostel, if the staff would be more friendly and work instead of sitting on the comuter and hear loud music. The beds are a shame. They shake if you or upper/under neighbour turn around in sleep. Ledder steps were rusty and broken. No barriers on the sides of an approx. 70-80cm width bed. The Fridge was disgusting. The coffee machine is half way broken and has never been cleaned like as the rest of the "kitchen". It should be an offence to offer accomodation like this.

At first glance the rooms looked fine, beds where ok, Wifi worked. But the rest... There was only one bathroom for 12 people, and not a single other shower anywhere to be found! And then they call it "ensuite" as if that was an advantage! The so called "guest kitchen/ lounge" is a filthy garage type of shed with very few chairs, a broken coffee-machine and a unbelievably dirty fridge. At least here you can find the only shared toilet in the house (with a broken seat and without lock or soap).

Location is very good, . The place isn't very bad itself, but there were some things that should definitely be improved. First of all, their reservation systems seems to be not working properly, since there was some mix ups with my reservation and I saw two other people that had problems with theirs as well. It was really hard to find a working power outlet in a convenient location. The staff was very unpunctual regarding opening times for reception and breakfast and not very organized.
