We were given a room with no window, i cannot remember if this was advertised, but either way it was difficult to spend time in the room as a couple without daylight. Poor wifi signal, and didnt work for a full day. The common area was average, breakfast was basic, toast and jam no fruit. Staff were helpful but pretty miserable, not much of a welcome when we arrived. From what I can see from the writing on the walls, this hostel was amazing, and then it changed owner. Get what you pay for.

Stayed two nights during rainforest festival. On arrival there were no dorms for us so we were put in the hotel furama next door. Appreciated that we weren't turned away, but slightly strange as was just a heap of people piled into what seemed like a family hotel room. Next day got the rainforest shuttle, which they had overbooked so put us in a cab. Seemed like an experience of averted disasters. Hostel is okay, but staff aren't great, found kinder and more helpful staff elsewhere.

Clean, comfortable dorm bed, good location close to Kuching waterfront, has kitchen, basic breakfast (homemade kaya!) and everything you'd expect, NO self-use laundry but can have yours cleaned for a fee. Staff are friendly and helpful (Sue and Mimi are super nice!). Lounge gives off great welcoming and social vibe.

Voiles 1 night, stayed 5. Sue and Mimi are just wonderful :) The location is ideal, the breakfast is fine (simple but fine), and the rooms are comfortable. Not a party town but theres plenty to do during the day (museums, national parks, shopping, etc.)
