Very clean hostel and very helpful staff. It has a good common area and restaurant/bar. It's close to the subway but a bit out of major Shanghai attraction.

I like the hostel, and would go back again if there is chance.

As an older couple (average age 60) we loved this hostel. The room, including our ensuite, was very clean and quite spacious and the bed was comfortable. It was easy to find, and although close to the subway station, we were not annoyed by noise. Staff were helpful and had very good English. Wifi connection for us, and computers in the common areas. We have already recommended this hostel to family and friends, young and old!

Since a good part of the hostel uses tapestry or carpeting and people smoke (or previously smoked) in the rooms, the rooms have a smell that suggests that it is old and has seen heavy usage. Suggestion: use tiles instead of textiles/carpets. Bathrooms: using higher isolation for the shower would help to avoid that the whole bathroom floods after a shower. Also, tubing is does not help- nowhere in China is great for that matter. At least providing a shower mat or mop would be useful.

I have stayed at this hostel a few times while in Shanghai. This will be the last time; not many people seem to stay there and it lacks atmosphere. It could do with a good clean and the staff are not as friendly as they were.

The hostel was fantastic. Your booking service (Hostelworld), however, leaves a bit to be desired.

The inn is just next to the city metro so the traffic is very efficient. yet sometime it seems too close with the windows are not very good at noise proof. A little bit noisy in day time but it's ok after 10 pm when the metro service stops. There's some kind of unpleasant humid smell in the room.

The girls who work at the hostel are great, very friendly and helpful. However there is no heating, which makes a stay there in the winter very hard.
