Had a terrible stay, arrived and the staff were very rude and arrogant. The man at the desk openly admitted that he was high and forgot to give us our towels and key card and almost charged us twice. Other staff weren't friendly and looked like they didn't want to be there. The shared toilets around the hostel were disgusting and poorly maintained. Any sort of.atmosphere was absent. Would not recommend le village to anyone.

Le Village is a nice hostel, however for all you female travelers it is located in the Red light district of Paris. We booked a 8 bed room, but got placed in a 4 bed room...fine by us! The staff were friendly if you didn't have any problems or need anything. In the 24 hours we were they we saw two very angry costumers talking with two different staff who were less then friendly to them. I would say their staff need to learn some costumer service skills. Not a party hostel, take that either way.

This hostel is ok, but no more than that. The staff was not very welcoming, some worse than others. It was noisy at night, we could hear a loud noise like water rushing through pipes all night! We could also hear music from the reception in our room one night. The beds made a lot of noise when turning over. All the bathrooms lacked soap, even the one downstairs which appeared to be used by the staff. The free tour advertised when we booked was canceled and we had not been informed - bad service!

Cons: not using the bar for anything other than breakfast. Internet (PCs) is extortionate (4x price of cafes 100m away). Suggestions: Allow users 1st 15mins free, then charge them for computers after that. Not everyone has wifi devices, but everyone wants to quickly look up opening times/maps on their way out. Get some board games. Try a little harder to create a warmer atmosphere. Pros: great breakfast, great cooking facilities. Clean. Generally helpful staff. Fast checkout. Secure.

The staff was very helpfull with helping us figure the tram stations and were always ready to help us. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable and the toilets are clean. It was located near a tram station, only 1 minute away and right next to la Basilique Sacré-Coeur. The only negative point was that the showers had mold and smelled.

This is the worst hostel I've ever been to. The worst thing that happened is that I dropped some water on the table, asked for the staff to give me towel papers and cleaned it. After a while this rude employee came to me and asked (in a very unpolite way) why I hadn't cleaned my mess. It came out there was some water on the floor. I said I'd clean it, but he should treat his clients better, and he began to humiliate me in front the other guests. Bad Paris first impression.

It wasn't made clear on the website that check-in would be until 4pm so I had to wait 12 hours to check into my room after having stayed out all night. The site told me to choose an arrival time, but I wasn't aware that didn't mean check-in time. Aside from that hostel was SUPER!

The location was great, and the beds were decent, but this hostel has a serious problem with the drains. The bathroom for my room smelt TERRIBLE. It was hard not to gag, and it made showering difficult. I initially thought it was just our room, but the shared bathrooms downstairs were the same. FIX THE PLUMBING, GUYS. this is a wonderful hostel in every other respect, but we couldn't leave the door of the bathroom open for fear of stinking out our room. That's a serious problem.

Great location, Montmartre is beautiful. The common area is nice, but then the rooms are quite basic and the bed was uncorfortable. But if you are travelling with a low budget then it's fine.

Much better than my entire group expected. Our stay was hassle-free and was definitely within our price range. No real problems to report.

common guys, you should mention in the hostel description that check-in time is 4pm. after 12 hours flight what one needs is a place to have a rest,a shower, place to change underpants at least. apart of that the rest was ok, in a french-i'm not generally interested in you-way of thinking

Nice place - good location, friendly atmosphere, very usefull kitchinette, free wi-fi in the lobby. Some cupboards or shelfs or boxes or anything else to put your stuff in the room and bathroom would be nice.

Staff was uneven. One of them (a man) behave inhumanly. Dorm had deficient heating and one night I fell ill. So I went down to use a PC and the phone to look up another hotel; he told me that guests couldn’t use the phone and that I should walk 3 blocks to a public one (in the snow, with a fever, at 3 am! -Jan17-). I went back to the dorm, and I got so much worst that I asked for help; a roommate had to use her own phone and PC to inmediately get a new hotel for me. I could left after midday.

Heater was not working properly in our room, it was realy cold to sleep or take a shower. They charged us 30 euros for the extra night, so not worth the money to stay there. Another thing that bothers is having to leave the keys at the reception every time you go out. Location is very good though.
