Nice atmosphere around the fire, sitting, drinking cider and talking to both other backpackers and hostel staff. Very nice people - they helped me when I forgot something important in the hostel, sending it immediately by mail to my new stay in Cape Town. Soweto is a special place to stay and definitely worth it to experience some township-life!

Super backpacker place!

I loved my stay @ Lebo's Soweto Backpackers for many reasons: Good location, very close to the people in the township "Soweto" not only by walking around, also because the majority of the staff members lives very close in the neighbourhood. They also supported me a lot to fix my trips in and around Johannesburg. There are very nice chill-out areas in the garden, which is very clean by the way, where you can meet other backpackers, play pool, have some drinks or just relaxe.

all in all a great place, warm welcome, friendly staff. my main critique is that food, esp breakfast is somewhat overpriced.

Great Hostel Loved it so much one of the best in SA

Front desk staff were, at times, standoffish and unreliable. For example, I gave three hours notice that I wanted to settle my bill and check out, yet it was not until the next morning that I was able to do so. Even then, the woman at the front desk had not yet done any calculations. As a result, we nearly missed our bus. My general impression was that the hostel sees such steady business that customer service is being neglected. Also, they should issue itemized receipts for transparency.

In a great area of the Soweto Township. Staff are really great and make it feel like a home. The bike tour is fantastic but and its walking distance from Vilikazi st and close to the Apartheid museum.

Great place in the middle of Soweto

Great place: really nice food, amazing atmosphere, cool location in soweto, very friendly staff.

Location is great. They do have their bad days but generaly good. You do not need more thant that to enjoy Soweto.
