Fantastic Rio experience. Great Hostel, great people, and location. Although the staff were nice & helpful in the hostel, their reccomendations on where to go/what to do was pretty limited and sometimes poor. I would highly reccomend this hostel though.

This hostel is perfectly situated between the beach and main street in Leblon. You feel at ease as soon as you walk through the door. The staff are really friendly and the rooms are clean as are the showers etc. We stayed for 8 days and had a really great time, i'd thoroughly recommend a stay here, it was the best place to stay and we often had people from other hostels hanging out as their hostels weren't as nice!

It needs more lockers for storage of Bags. all in use when i came and had to leave my luagage out in the rrom where all could get at it.

There are some bathrooms to be repaired. Some little noise in the rooms front of the street(in the corner). The reception needs to be improved. The rooms are good with air conditioner. The girl in the reception is very polite, but the other man, who stayed sometime is not so much. The location is very good. The hostel could offer options to have something to eat at night. There's only a bar. It could have a private place to see TV (there's only sport) and private place to surf in the internet.

Lemon Spirit is the best hostel I have stayed at so far. The position is great with just a short walk to the beach, the hostel is clean and the bathrooms were cleaned regularly, the staff were very helpful - specifically Lucas who went out of his way to help me. I would recommend anyone I know going to Rio to stay here!

Nice atmosphere and a good place to meet people. However, it was too noisy for me. I was put in a room on the ground floor, which I would avoid at all costs if I was you. The music from the reception area, which blasts out from breakfast to midnight, as well as people chatting and smoking in the garden right outside the window, meant that it was the noisiest hostel room i stayed in in south America. On the plus side, the location is great. Leblon is more 'local' than its neighbors + staff good.

Lemon Spirit the best hostel i've been. The best thing about it: Staff, atmosphere. We made a lot of friends, i really recommend if you like to go out,we went to parties and bars all together with the people on the hostel , it was lots of fun.The bathrooms are clean, but not so much late at night. It is one block from the beach and close to everything. One little thing: when roommates checked out they were very noise making their bags and woke us up.

In my opinion the best hostel in Rio

Good mix of people, very sociable in the outside bar area and often free caipirinhas! Clean clean clean which is great. Location great for leblon bars and cheap eats, and once you got the buses sussed nowhere else is far away...

The staff was very nice. They were helpful with everything. They have a nice bar area downstairs. There are 2 computers that work very well. The 6-bed-bedrooms are not very spacious but there is everything you need including comfortable beds and lockers to keep your stuff. Breakfast was also more than expected. The prices were a little high for a hostel but then again the location of the hostel is excellent and Leblon is a very expensive neighborhood. Would recommend this hostel.

I am Brazilian but hadn't been to Rio before. Lemon Spirit was definetely one of the reasons why I enjoyed it so much. One of the best hostels I've stayed.

I stayed in the Lemon Spirit for a week and I love the place. The location is close to the Beach and close to shops and restaurants in Leblon and Ipanema. The six bed dorm is not very spacious, but it didn't bother me much. The bed was very good. The air conditioning didn't work, but I prefer to sleep without a/c anyway. There are two computers, which have super fast internet. The staff is extremly friendly and helpful. There is a nice bar downstairs and a small outdoor area.

As everywhere else in Rio de Janeiro in the New Years' Eve period, prices are extremely inflated. Otherwise, absolutely nothing to complain about. Fantastic and helpful staff!

Great hostel in a good location. Good atmosphere to meet other travellers. Best (clean) showers I've ever had in a South American hostel. Staff very helpful!

The cleanest hostel I have ever been and lots of bathroons. Perfect location. I believe is Rio best choice

We lived for four nights at the Lemon Spirit in a private room. Had the most amazing time. Lemon Spirit not only has an awesome location (just 5 minute walk to the beach) but has great people working for it. All of them at the desk (Tatiana, Lucas and Rentor) were extremely friendly and helpful. Their suggestions were excellent and our stay was surely made special by them. In case if we visit Rio the next time, Lemon spirit will definitely be the place which we would go back to.

I had an excellent experience and highly recommend this place! The hostel was very well located: right next to the beach of leblon and near restaurants and all facilities!! Excellent staff: very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The place was clean and I really felt safe during my stay. The neighborhood where it's located is very safe as well. They have a nice outside area and a bar. Sometimes they offer free caipirinhas. I had the chance to be there in one of these days :)

No free capirinha for me, since there was construction & drilling going on in the front lobby and bar area when I got there. Apparently the end of Dec. is "dead" season so why value us. Horrible ambiance, I switched to another hostel in Ipanema that was dirtier and dingier, but in a more social location w/more hostels & bars (Casa6Ipanema). I would write more but for the character limit. Woman at hostel on morning shift didn't want to let me cancel until I told her another staff member ok'ed it.

I stayed in Lemon Spirit two times... first time in Rock in Rio was nice, but I stayed there just one night. The second time was amazing, nice staff, cool atmosphere, perfect location. I hardly recommend!

This hostel is in a perfect location. Everyone who works there, from reception to the bar to the cleaners, is friendly. They assist you with taxis and tours. Great fresh fruit at breakfast and good coffee available all day. The facilities were clean and there are lockers available. I would definitely recommend this hostel, and would stay here again.
