The hostel was nice , location is perfect , staff is helpful , value for money is good , rooms can be a little bit bigger but for a hostel what more do you expect. break fast was also nice. you get a free caiparinha the first day of your stay.

Great hostel. Located just off the beach in Ipanema - if this is your first first to Rio then you'll find this area safer as a base the Copa, Bota or Lapa. Not as much fun, but safer. Hostel itself has everything - decent rooms, bathrooms, its clean, has a solid breaky. Only slight downside is the guy who runs it. Must be tough to be cheery all day to everyone, but some hostel owners/workers manage it. Didnt spoil my stay, but could do with a smile more often to be great

For the small fortune you pay for a DORM-bed a towel would be the least I'd expect. Instead you get a plastic-covered mattress, freezing cold aircon at night which can't be controlled by the guests sleeping in the room (bring your sleeping bag!), aggressive) electro music played so loud you can't have a chat in the common area and a poxy breakfast (disgusting juices amongst other things). The staff are helpful if they are not too busy w. personal stuff but smiling isn't included in the price.

I really enjoyed chatting with the staff in Portuguese. They're a nice bunch & very welcoming. The facilities are clean and the location is perfect for going to the beach or just walking to shops and restaurants.

If drinks were cheaper/closer to hostel prices, people would buy more. Kitchen is a bit poor

Perfect location, very nice staff, everybody who works there is really nice and make your travel easier. Comfortable rooms, very clean bathroom, I think it was one of the best hostels where I've been. Thanks to Marlene because of her help and funny spirit, Renato, Lucas, Yara, everybody to make my travel easier and nice.

Lovation! Everything clean and nice. Indeed the best hostel in Rio! One block from the street and clean and large facilities with lots of space in the rooms. When you look around it could be a kind of hotel but you will still have all the charm from a hostel and meet other travelors. Value for money is indeed very good and I would actually prefer a bit higher prices for a better breakfast with more options. On the other hand white bread for breakfast is what you get everywhere in Brazil...

Great vibe, easy to meet people and the bar was a great place to hang out. Safe area, good locker facilities and always clean. kitchen a bit minimal but such a good atmosphere it really doesn't matter.

Fantastic hostel. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Love the fact it was in a great location to get around. I would recommend this hostel to anyone staying in rio for a short or long stay. Plus the caipirinha at the bar was awesome! Which helps.

A really great hostel in a safe location - perfect for meeting people if you're travelling on your own, great spaces for relaxing and the bar is great if you just want an evening in. Very clean, good breakfast and plenty of locker space. Staff were very nice and friendly however perhaps could use a formal greeting system in which things such as the no - key system or taking guests to the room - hard to find them with a large backpack etc. no real complaints though - would reccommend to anyone.

This place was clean, friendly, a little on the expensive but great location. Was in 6 bed mixed dorm which was a bit cramped though. The staff on reception ( primarily the guy with comb over hair) could brush up on their people skills. Staring at people with a look of disdain is not the correct attitude to have for friendly, smiling customers. All in all, if you can look past this I would definitely recommend this hostel.

The place was always clean, with lot of bathrooms available. Rooms could benefit with a bit more space and just a head lamp on each bed, but still they're ok. Staff is helpful when needed, no issues with security inside or outside the hostel, and Leblon is the most beautiful place to stay in Rio... I would definitely go back to Lemon Spirit, the atmosphere was really good and I met great people there.

There was a musty smell all over the place. I barely could sleep because the dusty and mites in the pillow and sheets. Cleaning ladies were very cool and friendly, however the receptionist was very unpolite and rude! I would not recomend this hostel for any friend, i think there are many other places with best value for money than Lemmon Spirit!

I thought the staff was very helpful in recommending tours and good parties / bars nearby. The mood at the hostel at night was pretty low key. I expected a little more of party atmosphere in the evening but not a big deal. Very clean and breakfast was great. The hammocks out back are a plus too.
