Great Place, only a bit far from city center (well, I should blame bad urban plan of Xining)

Great environment perched 16 flights above the city. The staff is helpful, the dorms have large lockers (and free locks), and the cafe has a pretty decent breakfast.

This is my second time staying at Lete (the first was for about 2 months) and it was still a great experience. This time I only stayed for 4 days. The staff are very nice, helpful, and knowledgeable about the area. The cafe offers breakfast, coffee, other food, and liquor. The cafe area is a pretty nice place to hang out at night and have drinks with friends, although it gets pretty warm during the day if it's sunny. The internet isn't particularly fast or reliable, but it does work!

Stayed at this hostel for a night while passing through XIning. The facilities were generally good, although the shower was weak and not very warm. There were a few other travelers, but didn't seem like much was going on. The location is kind of odd, but it was a short taxi to the bus station, so overall things were fine.

Good hostel and friendly staff

Decent enough hostel. Only stayed one night as we were on a stop over on our way to Tibet, but it did the trick. Nice rooms, close to some stores but about a 30 min walk to the main square. The free breakfast was nice, but would have been better if we had a choice as to which breakfast to get free.

Excellent except for being quite far from the city centre and bus/railway station.

The hostel was a little out of the way. The room was very small and the mattress terrible, but they did fix it as soon as we asked. The showers were always cold no matter how many times we complained. The staff were generally helpful, though not all had good English. The hostel served good food although you often had to wait a long time. There were no staff around at night and the hostel locked its door at 12 pm through to around 8 am, so let them know if you are arriving within this time.

Great hostel. And excellent views of the city. Stay here!

We really loved staying at the Lete Hostel in Xining. It's close to lots of great restaurants but not on a very busy road so it was quiet and peaceful inside. The staff speak English very well and everything was easy, comfortable and fun.
