Well run hostel in a big city. A large Chinese city such as Xining can be a daunting prospect for international travellers, but Lete Hostel has an easy going efficient staff and lots of information and help available with good English spoken. The arrangement of rooms and relaxing spaces high up above the streets is also fun. Very practical place to stay in Xining.

+ the beds were comfy and the staff was extremely helpful and kind - the shower pressure was extremely low and the bathroom could be well cleaned for once at it was not very clean. Would not walk there barefoot at all. The general atmosphere was not good, but this had nothing to do with the staff. The people staying there did not even say hello or talk with eachother.

Staff and atmosphere of the hostel cannot be beat. They are outgoing and seek to help wherever they can. The facilities are a bit worn, the ensuite bathroom smelly and moldy (installation of a ventilation fan might be helpful) and the main living area of our room was so dimly lit that one could not see to read at night without a booklight. While the trash was emptied nearly daily when our room was serviced, the bathroom was never cleaned in my 12-day stay. There was a refrigerator in our...

Well located near bus stop that leads to all parts of the city. Friendly staff. The toilet and shower works well. Good place to stay whether just for a bed or to hang out with other travelers.

The staff were so awesome! They gave very good travel advice, we had beer together and they even taught me Chinese. There was free popcorn on movie night! And there are other expats living in the building who come hang out in the hostel, so you can met them too!

A bit run down of the furniture and the wall. The toilet was smelly and the toilet seat was block, glad that they fixed it next day. The shower water was weak and the water was not hot enough. Staffs were helpful but they are not on the front desk often.

Everything was great except the water pressure in the shower. Would definitely stay here again.

The facilities in Superior Double were good but better value could be found elsewhere. The staff were very helpful which you don't always find elsewhere in China.

Apart the fact that we found some small cockroaches in a bathroom after the used DDT, the hostel was awesome, with reading area and very friendly hosts. Would definitely go back when in Xining

Just one pair of shoes in a double room doesn't make sense. Staff couldn't help to arrange trips. Location is good...some nice restaurants close by.

It was a nice hostel, and the location is fine. You are 15 mins walking from probably the main commercial streets surrounding the main mosque in Xining. Furthermore, the employees there has been very helpful, offering tips on how to get everywhere and recommending us to go ask to the travel agency upstairs when they couldn't answer us about an specific place (Tibetan connection, also highly recommended).
