Be aware... there are two Hostels, one more or less opposite the other... one is 'old' , the other 'new'.... I landed in the 'old'..... no lift and the bar/cafe/internet on the 5th floor...... try climbing 5 floors at 13,000ft !!!!!

4 dogs and 2 cats live on the roof where the resturant and cheap dorms are. The animals are locked IN the resturant in the mornings and animal feces cover the roof and walkways. The doors do not lock and most dont even latch so the animals have free run of the upstairs rooms leaving "presents". When we were there none of the public showers worked and the staff were incompentent and dismissive at best. Upside? Decent location and a nice view from the roof.

the free breakfast, which cannot be taken in the hostel but in another hostel cross the street, made us speechless: it consisted of baozi (flour and water) and some brown water with rice, sadly floating in it. on our arrival we had to ask 3 times before we got fresh bedsheets. the bathroom was constantly flooded with water dripping down from the ceiling. the restaurant with internet cafe on the roof is nice, but the owner plays really loud trash music every night - communication impossible.
