Overall a good hostel. Clean enough and with good heating and hot water - the most important thing in Tibet in January! Staff are helpful, but English not great. Location in Barkhor is superb.

In spite of being in what was considered one of the best private rooms at the hostel, it was run down in maintenance - bedside light not working, lock on door about to break off, toilet seat coming off, sink hadn't been properly cleaned before. The location and excellent view of Potala Palace was emphasised, but needed more attention to detail for price paid. Good food. Breakfast was free, but very basic. Quiet where we were (noisier we heard at their other place, same hostel, across the road).

The location of this hostel is good, but for the rest it was not our favourite. Too big to be nice.

I put Poor on the Clenliness just because the bathroom could be much better. I have been there for just one night and I did not take a shower, but I think that it is not a really a nice experience. This is the main point about this hostel, as far as I have seen in my 3-beds room.
