Rooms warm, cosy and pretty clean. Beds good, location in ok area, not far from atteactions by metro. However on my last day, i found rat bait / peletts under my wardrobe, not pleasant....very good hostel overall though

It is not that bad, close to the Northern and Eastern train stations, but a bit far from Notre Dame (30 min or a bit more by foot) and far from Eurolines bus station Gallieni (had to take the metro because it was very far on foot). A metro station is close, in case you have or want to take it. Only one bathroom for the whole floor. Not the best we ever stayed in, but Paris is already expensive so there are few options either way.

Incredibly unfriendly staff for the entirety of our stay and in a rather ugly part of the city. Still, nice and near to metro and train and can't complain too much for the price.

I like the character of Liberty Hotel, room was clean and safe. If there had a lift for bulky luggage, it would be perfect. WIFI is very fast and stable (not only limited to lobby, but also on 2nd floor). For each private room, desk, lamp, TV, heater and sink are provided, facilities and services were sufficient for our stay. It is good value for budget trip and I highly recommend Liberty Hotel to all travelers. P.S: Don't walk around during midnight, it locates near ghetto and seems unsafe.

The twin bed rooms appear to be better than the double bed rooms. I booked them both on separate nights and the twin bed rooms had bigger space and attached bathrooms. The location is alright, not THAT seedy really, I didn't see any beggars or drunks along the Bd de Magenta. Pretty much a functional place which has very good hot water showering facilities. Wi-Fi is very good even on the 3rd floor.

I don't really understand why people say that the area is unsafe.

Nice staff, and most spoke reasonable English. The location's pretty good, and the rooms are cheap, plus the wifi's fairly reliable. But what I disliked was the stench of smoke in the rooms - I found it difficult to sleep because the pillow, sheets and blankets, as well as seemingly, the walls, absolutely stank of cigarette smoke. Would have been perfectly fine if not for that.

Great location, close to the train station and short walks to tourist attractions. Decor slightly old and bedding in need of replacement. No lift, but beautiful staircase. Staff friendly and helpfull, however slight confusion regarding breakfast as it is not included and you will be charged for it.
