About Lidwala Backpacker Lodge
Lidwala Backpacker Lodge, is a convenient safe-haven for volunteers, youth groups, backpackers & independent travelers. With it's beautiful location, nestled at the base of Sheba's breast mountain with a view over the Ezulwini valley and Mdzimba hills and situated among large boulders (hence it's name), indigenous trees & a flowing stream, Lidwala offers a degree of exclusivity at budget rates.
The Lodge is conveniently located for backpackers, being a Baz Bus stop on the main Ezulwini road, directly opposite the entrance to Woodlands Restaurant (mango-zeni combi stop) and within walking distance of most of Ezulwini's main facilities & attractions (craft markets, the Gables shopping centre, hotels, restaurants). A shuttle service is available from the lodge on special arrangement and there is parking available for self drive guests.
The lodge has a combination of dorms, en-suite twin & double rooms and safari tents on wooden decks. Dorm rooms/tents are available for R100pp/night. En suite twin/double rooms are available for R250/room/night. There is a DSTV lounge with board games and book exchange and a large deck with pool table, table tennis & dart board. The lodge is surrounded by spacious gardens with a communal braai and campfire area. Whether relaxing with a book in a rocking chair takes your fancy or exploring the area, Lidwala backpacker lodge is a beautiful base in Swaziland's "valley of heaven".
Lidwala has an information centre and loads of activities on offer. Book here for All Out Africa tours and expeditions around Swaziland or to Kruger Park and Mozambique. Experience Swazi culture by going to a traditional Swazi dance, participate in a cultural ceremony (e.g. annual reed dance ceremony) visit the craft market or explore the real Swaziland by quad bike. If adventure is your calling we can help you arrange white water rafting, adventure caving, horse riding or game viewing. You can also get involved in some of the conservation and community projects run by All Out Africa from this base and are likely to bump into some of the international volunteers staying here.
