Excellent service and very friendly staff. The hostel is centrally located and the dorm rooms and bathrooms were clean. They have a very inviting social area where you can relax and they provide breakfast, lockers and the use of a computer. I would recommend to others.

I found this hostel a very nice and quiet place. If you don't look for partying and just need some rest after the day, that's the place for you. They also offer some breakfast, although rather light, which is always a welcome thing.

The Light House is such a warm and inviting hostel. I felt at home as soon as I was welcomed in the hostel. I was given an in depth tour of the hostel and loaded up with information on numerous attractions to visit during my time here. The beds are amazingly comfortable, the free breakfast is great and the staff are incredibly accommodating! Stay here if you are looking for a peaceful break where you can recharge and rejuvenate yourself!

This is a very nice hostel. Clean, friendly staff, and good atmosphere. If I have to think about things to improve, I would think of the bunk beds, which are quite noisy as soon as you move, and the three bathrooms can be insufficient in the morning so often you have to wait to find one. Also, it would be useful to have kitchen towels in the kitchen (at least I wasn't able to find them if they were there), to use as napkins or to clean after your cooking/eating.

Thanks, Light House! We enjoyed so much our stay at this place... so comfortable, nice, warm, colourful, sweet-smelling and well equipped. Spacious rooms, comfortable beds, clean toilets and showers, great kitchen... really cost-effective!

Staying in the Light House is a breath of fresh air on the typical hostel scene. Fresh, friendly, fun, but equally calm and quiet, you will eat, sleep and chat well at the Light House. The staff are as kind and helpful as you could ever hope for and they provide you with everything you need for a lovely stay. Travellers of the world. Stay here!

In my short stay in Edinburgh, I wanted to make sure that I found a great value in accomodations. Light House was relaxed and welcoming. The moment I walked in the door, Gavin treated me to a tour of the place, a cup of tea, and insider advice on the who/what/where/when of Edinburgh. Lighthouse is a prime location for any traveler (or group) looking for a quiet and inviting atmosphere. I will be recommending Light House to all of my Scotland-bound friends!

Very good hostel with nice facilities. It's clean and quite. If you wanna feel like home and have a good night sleep, totally recommended. I can't imagine the atmosphere around the fire place in the garden in summer time! Gavin, Emma and Adriana are such a welcoming staff!

Location is around 15 mins walk from the city centre, where the bars, the castle, the royal mile are. Acceptable for me tho.

Only stayed a night but wish I could have stayed longer. Everyone was so friendly, and so welcoming. The hostel itself was very clean, and well equipped. Short walk into the old town, but many theatres right nearby. Basic breakfast provided, but a really great kitchen is available to cook on your own. The whole place just warmed my heart. Highly recommended!

A great stay, nice environment. Only issue was with the queue for toilets/showers in the morning, and the hand towel size of the towels (though they were free). Thanks for the stay.
