Good aspects: very nice place to relax and discover the city which is very accesible bia the train right beside the hostel, also the kitchen is mice and functionnal, all the facilities are kept cleen daily, the room was also nice and clean and comfy. Warning there are dogs walking around... The hot water works well and the showers too. Bad aspects: there is not really a backpacker vibe there, it is more of a place to stay long term, no movies, small tv

Light House Lodge is a great place to stay. If they could work on a few things it will be excellent. They should provide an alternate number. We were trying to reach the hostel and couldn't. Ended up driving around as there is no exact location in the GPS. The taxi drivier had a hard time looking for it. And also paid more than twice for taxi. Also need someone on the premises to take care of guests. Had to ask other guests about every little detail.

i spent several days in the hostel. It is not in the center of Cape but very good place close to the train station ( 5 min walk ). I really felt confortable in this place, with a nice view on the mountain around Cape, in a green area with some gardens. The house is well maintained by Helen and the friendly and smily staf. Everything is organised and clean inside. The kitchen is fully equiped and you can find all what you need to cook,or to keep your food (big fridges, lockerts)

Our stay was good and wonderful. However, toilet facilities are not enough, for example there was only one toilet (for sitting) available for men and it was even in a faulty condition. We would recommend the place to anyone with the corrections and upgrading of facilities. Thanks!!

It's a bit far if you don't have a car, but if you do, it's a breeze to go downtown, you're there in no time. Loved this place and the owners, Helen and John, are awesome people.
