Lion Lodge Lucerne Reviews

Lion Lodge was a good place to stay on a budget, and was much nicer than other hostels I have stayed at for the same price. The rooms were big, the security was good (the lockers could fit a whole suitcase), and the common room was nice. There wasn't a whole lot of character in the rooms because it was the typical sterile hostile set up with multiple bunk beds, but the location was great, right by the famous Lion sculpture, and within a moderate walking distance from Lake Lucerne and old town.

the light in bathroom will turn off in 3 minutes. we have to take a shower in dark!

Muy bueno el hostel, solo faltan mas computadoras y un buen desayuno para empezar el dia. Las habitaciones son grandes, espaciosas y muy comodas. Muy bien ubicado y centrico.

The place is very good. The hotel is located near the center and the train station. The room is quite clean. The kitchen is not so good. there is only 1 electric stove that work well. The microwave and the refrigerator are good.if you stay only 1-2 nights is OK for that

No breakfast :( Bathroom was poor, the sensor light repeatedly turned off whilst using the toilet and/or shower. No privacy when showering, anyone could access the bathroom, there was no locking door, you only had a shower screen between you and the world!! Room security was good.

Too many beds in a too small room.

Very kind staff and perfect location. The place maybe lacked some personality but it was cheap, clean and the staff spoke perfect english... would stay here again!

i have to say the location is better than the other aspects ,and price is ok,, if includes breakfast .the only one thing i can not forget is when i have shower (female bathroom),the light just can be turn on in washing area but not shower area.so when i close the door of shower room ,for a short moment,the light would be turn off,and i can only bath in the dark.!!!!!and toilet paper still had not been installed in roll box,from my arriving to leaving,just on the cement windowsill.

The hostel is conveniently located within walking distance to the center of the city. The only downside is that there is only one shower on each floor, which is a bit of an inconvenience.

Lion lodge is in a superb location: just 2 stops away from station; short walk from the Lion monument, Glacier Garden & supermarket. Indian restaurant next door. Bernadette who owns the place was very friendly as was the staff. We would definitely stay here again. The kitchen is well equipped to make a full meal & some items in the fridge are free for all to use. Room for Improvement: Need a shelf for personal items in the Shower & a cupboard in the room.

The hostel is in an ok location, a short ride from the train station. However it gives the impression of being run down and depressing. The lights in the rooms are so dim that you may want to use a flashlight to see better. The old brown paint on the walls is reminscent of a prison. The bed spreads are grayish, and leave the impression of dubious cleanliness. The place needs to be seriously perked up.

Our room mate was a local person who lived in that room for over 30 days and you could imagine the smell of it. Plus, I lost my food in the kitchen!! And when I talked to the receptionist he seemed to have nothing to do to help. I really think they should have a security camera in all the public area!

Nice clean hostel, friendly staff. Quiet place though not really a hostel for partying.

Ok hostel. Around 20mins walk from Train station. Bathrooms were clean. Rooms were very basic but clean enough with comfy pillows.

Location is good, right opposite to the bus startion and is easy to reach all attractions. There's kitchen inside the hostel, you can have all kitchen tools you want. The only bad thing is that the shower is too weak.

Really good to have a kitchen- Switzerland is expensive! Computers aren't free but there is wifi. Lockers in rooms are helpful. Within comfortable walking distance of old Luzern. Beds are great.
