Very bad impression. First, no one wuold answer the phone # provided by HW. Upon arrival, they did'nt knew anything about the reserve and handed me a piece of paper with phone #s to call the "boss", that "was out". Suspecting this, plus the strong tobacco smell in the house (smoking in public closed places is forbidden in Portugal) I asked to look ay the hostel. I believe clients were mostly immigrants living there full time, and not a friendly setting. I just had to quit staying there.Very bad impression. A nice clean and friendly hostel in which I enjoyed a pleasent stay. About a 20 minute walk from town centre being the only negative aspect. All the staff were very helpful, the facilities reliable as advertised, lockers and two fridges but a second cooker would be usefull when it is busy. The hostel was clean and comfy. I miss the laughter and smiles, I miss Benedicta. Local transport access was excellent for old city, art galleries and beaches. Lisbon is a poem of amazing contrasts, refreshingly quiet with beautiful hilly views, good people and fado. A depois do Adeus? I will not forget you, you have my email.
