Ultimate in cheap low frills guest house. A bed for 100 bat and not much more. No problems with the staff or the atmosphere, but you get what you pay for in the way of cleanliness and facilities. HOWEVER, if you are the partying type or you need to makes friends quickly, the people living and working here are extremely friendly and will welcome you openly. Just know what you are getting into before you go, and you will have a good time.

Really relaxed, very basic but clean and typical Chiang Mai. Kitchen and tea and coffee available. Very friendly and social. Mosquito nets provided. Hot showers too!

When I arrived in Chiang Mai I was not prepared for this hostel. Yes it is cheap but not what I expected. Lower your standards and do not expect much other then an extremely friendly staff. I actually decided to stay two doors down at RCN court and inn and pay the extra 15 canadian a night. Effie sp? Was super nice and even offered to give me my deposit back. I felt bad but was only 2 days into my trip, decided private accommodation w/ air con was what I needed.

I loved Lita Guesthouse. It was a great atmosphere for a solo traveler wanting to relax and meet people. We had lots of shared meals and it was in a great location. The couple that runs and owns it is rad.

you must be ready to live closely with the people, you just get a bed in a room.....whichever you happen to get.....i suppose you get for what you pay. Wouldnt go back there. Anyway, there seemed to be a good atmosphere....going out together and stuff

Lita Guesthouse was amazing thanks to Thom! She was awesome and very hospitable. If you're not the sociable type, this may not be your place. I had a great time meeting new people sharing the big room. Go here and you'll never want to leave Chiang Mai!
