Friendly and very knowledgeable owner who spoke fluent English, but there is no front desk as it's set up in a house so he may not always be around. A touch expensive for Chile but not sure about Vina del Mar. Walking distance to bars, sushi, buses (to Valparaiso also). Most residents are long-stay students, they stay downstairs so you don't see them unless you venture down. Not many other rooms so not much atmosphere amongst residents but suits a couple or quiet people. Very safe, locked doors.

Patricia, the host, was super helpful - giving us suggestions for day trips. This is much better than going to Santiago. Use Vina del Mar as a base, and explore the region. Felt very safe. We had planned to go on to Santiago, but this was so pleasant that we decided to stay 5 nights rather than 2. Location is up a hill, but is away from noise, traffic. Can walk from bus station to hostel, but it is uphill.

This was my second time staying at the Little Castle; this is a great place to relax and get some sleep. There's a great view of the centro of Viña from the living room, good breakfasts, and Patricio is a great host.

Little Castle was a great escape from busy dorm rooms and noisy hostels. We are traveling for 6 months and appreciate a quieter hostel from time to time. Little Castle is a beautiful, quaint house and if you are looking for a good nights sleep then this is the place for you. But the hospitality shown by the owner Patricio is why you will love this place. You feel like you are his guest and he goes out of his way to make sure your time in Vina del Mar and Chile is a good one. Ideal for couples

This is a budget accommodation, the bed was very comfortable, the linen could use an upgrade. The host speaks english well and was very helpful with advise on what areas to visit and to stay away from. Breakfast was included and was good, we did not expect that. 4 blocks from the beach, noisy neighborhood due to the proximity of the many taverns in this part of town.

From the moment I walked in this hostel felt like home-- Patricio was so welcoming and the hostel is the best in the area. I came for 3 nights and ended up staying for more than a week! Super clean rooms and kitchen-- excellent breakfast as well!

Little Castle is a great place to stay in Vina! It has a really homely atmosphere to it. I think it is the first hostel have really unpacked my bags.We used the kitchen alot- and were able to relax on their HUGE belcony overlooking the city. It is more like a giant old home than a hostel though, so arrive with that in mind. It also had the best breakfast we have experienced in months.

Thank´s for you comment. I thing the problem was you bring two more people and they not paid for the extra queen bed. Even We don´t like you want to take shower and eat meals from the hostel for free, after check out

Extremely friendly staff, quite clean rooms. The price is maybe a bit high, and the house is located on a hill with many stairs. 20 minutes walk from the beach and the centrum... Not a perfect location, but a wierd cousy house, with all you need.

I can't recommend this hostel enough. It is in a huge house in an excellent location on the Castle Hill within walking distance to the beach, the main part of town, and just up the stairs from the bus stop to Valparaiso. The owner Patricio is absolutely fantastic. Despite being totally full, he let me stay for an extra night on the couch for free since I couldn't get a bus ticket. The next day he took me on a personal tour of the area and drove me to the bus station. Best value for your money!

I hate saying things like this but this has been the best hostel I´ve stayed in to date. The owner is an uber friendly persona, happy to book things for you like call taxis or give suggestions about places to eat and drink that you won´t find other tourists visiting. The hostel itself is only a few blocks from the centre of Vina, it has good views and it´s very well secured. Vina is great for going to Valpo in the morning and then relaxing at Renaca beach in the afternoon. Terrific hostel.

Its a family house on the top the hill with a very friendly owner, Patricio. Lovely view for Vina del Mar - especially in the night. I spent there the Christmas and they were extremely friendly! We had a Christmas dinner together. THe hostel owner cooked for us a very delicious Arabic rice.

The Little Castle is great. It's sort of a cross between a bed & breakfast and a hostel; a perfect place to relax and meet other travelers without all the noise and partying of a typical backpacker's hostel. The main room has a sweet view of Viña, breakfast is good, the prices for private rooms are some of the lowest in town, and Patricio is one of the nicest guys I have met in all of my travels.

The bed was comfortable and the room was secure. apart from having trouble finding the place and the stairs, its got a nice location on top of the hill with a large window in the lounge room. My room had a really strong smell of some sort of aerosole spray which stayed even after opening my window. The guys working there were generally helpful but the breakfast was very minimal for a B&B and low quality.

We stayed in the spacious private double room, with a large closet and an awesome view of Vina. Patricio really made us feel like guests at his house. The kitchen was one of the cleanest on our 3 months in SA and definitely had the sharpest knives. Breakfast was great with fresh fruits and bread w/ guacamole! Highly recommended!

great hostel in a good and safe location. Nice staff - nothing seems too much trouble for them. Breakfast is nice too. Lovely old house that the hostel is in. More of a guesthouse than a hostel. Would recommend
