Excellent location in the center of town. Also less than 10 minute walk from the train station. The walls are very thin here, so noise can be a problem. Otherwise, a good place to stay for the price.

They don't have a good reservation's system and if somebody else comes before you, they don't care about giving the others your room. That was the Case of a couple there. You also have to pay 2€ per night per person because of "City taxes" Toilet paper runs out and took a long to get some more

We arrived at the address sending to us via e-mail, but when we arrived there, we could receive no response from the intercom. A phone number was available, but coming from South Africa we only had our cell phones on sms roaming, thus could not phone. After our disastrous experience in Rome with the booking we dit through Hostelworld, we were not pleased at all. I had to ask a shopowner next door to phone the number (who could not speak English and I dont speak Italian) They did come to fetch us

It is rather modest hostel, but if you look just for a place to sleep (like we did), it offers you everything you need.

It was a good place to stay in Florence, rooms were nice, the guy who runs the hostel did not really speak English. The kitchen was a joke, no stove, just a microwave, fridge, sink and waterheater. Free tea was a good idea. Location is perfect, both nights I felt very safe staying there.

we reserved a doble room at the Locanda Rocco for 2 nights. but hostel Rocco doesn't has doble-room. so we moved in another Hotel 200m from Locanda Rocco. the personal are not realy friendly. when we arrived they didn't know if would be a free room for us. in the other hotel where we've stayed there was no free wi-fi it's a better idea look for another hostel.

Upon arrival we had to call the owners to come to the hostel to let us in. They spoke decent English but I spoke Italian for most of our conversation. They were not very welcoming or friendly, they got right to business and requesting the money for our stay. They informed is that there was a problem with our booking and suggested having two members of our group of six stay at another hostel. I refused and accepted a lower price for us to stay in the public girls room instead of the private room.

A very good hostel. A cleaning lady came everyday and the bathrooms were pretty clean. Some of the staff don't speak English very well, but they were still very friendly. It's only a 5-10 minute walk from the train station and the Duomo and other touristy stuff.

Loccanda Rocca was a great place to stay while in Florence. The beds, especially, were great. The only problem we had was checking in-- we arrived just half an hour late to our check-in time and there wasn't anyone there. We both had UK phones, so I was barely able to make a call to the number, and then no one showed up for another 30 minutes or so. The rest of the stay was lovely. We did get lost on the way, so maybe an adjustment to the walking directions from the train station?

Danger!!! Gross bathroom but seemed ok for the cheap price. HOWEVER 2nd night I stayed there was an accident - ladder to the bunk bed broke, hitting me in the head with an iron bar and sending the girl above crashing to ground. I ended up with a cut on my temple, black eye, and a concussion. Other girl sprained her ankle. 1 staff member who came after we called for help was kind, but the manager who came was an imbecile - uncaring, defensive, and had the nerve to argue with me about a refund.
