Seems like everything for the walker or backpacker has been thought of.

The facilities are ok, but you can get FAR better hostels for less money. Points to critizise are, that the bathroom doesnt have a door, so, although you can close the door of the toilet/shower, it feels strange. Unfortunately in my second night which I spent there, I was nearly cooked during the night, as the heater seemd not to switch off and it became really hot. The staff were all french, which me not knowing french and them not knowing well English, caused many communication problems.

We did not get the room we had booked which smacked of Over Booking, this was overcome with us getting a room at the managers house. The local hotel was very good for bar meals and very friendly to walkers.

We arrived around lunchtime and nothing was too much trouble for the proprietor. The room was excellent and the licensed bar was a real bonus. Located close to all amenities, and only a short walk out of Drumnadrochit. We would certainly recommend the Loch Ness Backpackers and would have no hesitiation in staying there again.

It was snowing and pretty nasty out .We had just driven several hours north from Liv and got caught in the same storm that had stranded climbers east of where we were. The door was open and it was warm and inviting. Our hosts got us settled in and explained all. VERY nice and I only regret not being able to stay longer . We were headed to Edinbourgh for two nights and we would have been wiser to have stayed in Loch Ness.

We had a great time in the hostel. It's a pitty that we only had one night in the hostel. The hostel is one of the many reasons to come back to Drumnadrochit. Only kind people there and a perfect location.

Arrived at Ness backpackers and greeted by a helpful man who advised no one was about but to go in - found a note from owner telling us room num and that they would be around in the evening, on inspection of the room saw a notice saying on leaving to remove pillow cases and top & bottom sheets NOT THE DUVET COVER. was mortified at this had a look at the bed and and on seeing small 'black curly hairs' !!! ileft !! not good - i understand that it's a basic accom but thats taking the biscuit !

Was impressed with the Bunkhouse & our host gave us a warm welcolm from the start. Gave us a tour of the Hostel, which I must admit exceeded my expectations. The beds were comfortable & ready made & the open fire in the lounge was welcolme, particularly after having taken a walk to the local floodlit castle & returning somewhat damp. The best facility was quite a suprise, a bar in a bunkhouse!, The bear was very tasty & and reasonably priced. I can recommending this Hostel, it's great.

Everything was great, it was in an amazing part of the highlands and the owners were incredibly nice, I was 7 hours late and it was no problem. Only difficultly was that it was somewhat hard to find, but better directions would make this place perfect!

Wendy you were amazing! The fire was super warm and we loved cuddling up on the couch watching movies! Everything was clean and a great warm place to hang about after all the cold weather. We will definitely come back when in Scotland.
