This hostel still has their good reputation from the old location. Hostelworld rating should start from scratch if a hostel changes location! The new Loki is huge (7 floors..) and very unpersonal to my personal taste. Staff members who work at the hostel are there mostly to party, most of them (some are really nice) cant be bothered to deliver a decent service. The food is pretty good but the service is very unreliable.
Do not stay here just go to the bar to meet other nice people and stay in a hostel that is fully functioning. The entire place needs lots of time and money spending on it!
Not a very well run hostel. Beds been prepared up to 9pm for new arrivals. Shower drains block a lot. Internet very poor. Very big hostel, not enough of good staff to cope with crowd.NO LOCKERS in bedrooms. Lift dosent work sometimes. The simple things not been done right is very off putting.
They changed their location and phone number one week before we arrived and they never told us! Taxi drivers didn't even know about this new address! They didn't have the courtesy or the competence to inform us of the address/phone number change. If not for some very helpful people (who had absolutely no association with the hostel) we would have never found this hostel. The Wifi only "works" on the bar floor, and even there it's extremely slow. They tried to overcharge us when we checked out.

This hostel is not ready for guests yet, the rooms are cramped, the bathroom light did not work and the toilet in our room did not flush. The new location is great but it is an old hotel building and needs LOTS of work and money spending on it before it can be called a functioning hostel
Stayed in a private room for two nights. They had just moved to a new location, so things were pretty messy. The room was nice and spacious. Bathroom was good too, with hot showers. Wifi only worked on floor 6 and 7, but it worked great up there. Staff was good, and helped us out with what we asked. The hostel is huge, there were over 200 people staying there. We talked to a lot of people who had problems with the dorms, but the private room was good.
Had a bit of trouble finding the 'New Loki' as we were given the wrong address in the confirmation email! It was pretty hectic and disorganized during check in/out as they were in the middle of the relocation, but the staff were friendly. Wifi was terrible even in the reception and common areas. Room was fine and bathroom reasonably clean. A cleaner came into our room at 10pm though which was a bit strange! Would recommend if you are wanting to party.
Loki has just moved and despite booking and receiving an email from the staff it didn't mention the new address. This meant we had to pay for a taxi twice. The new Loki will be a fantastic hostel once it is up and running, the building has great views, food is good, staff nice and the top floor bar is sociable and fun. But as it was it was really really dirty and extremely disorganised. Reception was chaos, check in delayed and hostel unfinished, bunkbeds going up for waiting people.
Hire bar staff who want to get the customers drunk rather than themselves. Happy hour is a bit difficult if it takes a long time to get served despite innumerable people behind the bar. Don't try and move hostels in 4 days. If you do, say on your website. Staff were good at clearing up the mess but shouldn't have been in that position in the first place. Invest in wifi that works.
Staff were helpful with the exception of the short red head girl - she wouldn´t assist you unless asked to by one of the other staff and then she would give attitude about it. When my bed was ¨ready¨ (3hrs after check in), the sheets had not been made. I asked about it at 10pm, they said they would do it. I came back at 3am they still hadn´t been done. Wifi also sucked. No lockers. Had to step over bags in room as there were too many beds in room! Wild Rover was MUCH MUCH MUCH better!!!
Hard place to review as I stayed 3 nights at the 'old Loki' followed by 3 nights at the 'new Loki'. In 3 months, Loki La Paz will probably be the best party hostel in La Paz but right now it is an utter shambles! Some staff (special mention to 'Tai'? on reception) are working their arses off and deserve.a bonus for all the flack they are copping from disgruntled guests. Management are seemingly incompetent or greedy for moving everyone into a building not yet set-up to receive guests.
IThe music in the bar was usually so loud from already in the afternoon, you can't even have a normal talk during dinner. It takes them a very long time to make you a breakfast and fruit juices. At one morning there were only eggs left (no yoghurt, fruits, pancakes). I booked a room with 6 of girls, there were 8 other girls. The bathroom has not been cleaned in three days and it was very dirty. I asked for an aiport pick up in the night, but there was no taxi. That is not a nice way to arrive.

It is really hard to sleep and enjoy the beautiful nature around La Paz if you are staying at this hostel. I really feel that people go there only to party inside the hostel. The quiet zones are not so quiet at night...
Their WiFi set-up was weak bordering on non-existent, and their breakfast was the poorest I have ever come across.
PARTY PARTY PARTY! This is definetly a party hostel, so if you dont like to party - do not stay here. The bar plays really loud music til 1 am every day, which got kind of annoying the days you just wanted to sleep. The hostel is huge, with 180 beds and 3/4 of the people are guys. Breakfast is good and the restaurant cook good food all day. Wifi is poor, but location is excelent. Even though this is a really good hostel, I didnt have a good time here. I do like to party but not EVERY single day!
Good party hostel. WiFi was generally good and worked in our room. No kitchen but the food that you could buy was nice.
Loki is really a party hostel. Our room was right above the bar so sleeping was not an option, before 3o clock. When we came in after two They got angry with us because we were talking at a normal level. The food in the bar isnt cheap but the happy hour is. The showers Didnt have hot water. Also some of the staff were not very friendly or even harassing us. The guy who talks to everybody when you walk in is pretty friendly and always willing to help you.
Only stayed a night, but after travelling Bolivia it was so nice to get here. Good food and drink, cheap. Comfortable wide beds, two pillows! Friendly helpful staff. Showers and bathrooms are SCRUBBED, I saw it happening, the place is clean. Rooms are far from the bar so sleep even when the party is still going. Free breakfast is rubbish, bread jam etc but breakfast to order is great and so cheap I didn't care. Only one power point in our room, 6 beds. I got an electric shock from another plug
Only go here when you are prepared to party every day untill 4 am. The beds are great but going to bed at 11pm is not possible since music is played untill 4 am and people in my room where constantly coming in and out the room, totally wasted. Food is fairly cheap and good!
Amazing stay!! Great fun and the staff make it even better, always getting people involved in day and night activities!! If you come to la paz you have to stay here!!!! Good food during the day and in house tourist office which help with everything including death road, amazon trips, salt flats and buses!
