it's ok for one night. i was at the 15-bed room (room 9). the room is too small for all the beds and guests. there are only two showers and two loos for the whole floor. there's instance hot water but it is not enough water pressure. at the end it's just you get what you paid for.

the staff at the hostel were rather unhelpful, did not know directions to major landmarks of london, they advised us that it was difficult to hail cabs from the area and called a taxi (which was not marked nor metered and the driver took us to another location and over charged). insects were flying around in the halls. other residents were loud (screaming at night, smoking in rooms) not attender to for long periods of time.

Owner Comment (Show)
I cannot comment on the staff's knowledge of London; as I am not sure who you talked to or what was asked. However, all our staff have good knowledge of London since we all have been living here for a number of years, except our new guy. It is quite difficult to hail a black cab in this area, since it is quiet, unless you have plenty time to wait around or walk to a busier road. The taxi that was called for you was called a private cab and is much cheaper than the black cabs. The private cabs here in London are not marked or metered. The driver would have asked you where you wanted to go and driven you to that destination. I do not understand how you would know that you were over charged if you never took a taxi in London before! Perhaps a fly flew into the corridor, which is normal if the window is left open in the hallway. Furthermore, smoking in the building is against the law and we do not hesitate to fine or evict those who break this law. Since you failed to report that someone was smoking in the room, you are just as bad as the person committing the illegal act. How are staff to know unless you tell them?

Very loud on the groud floor - TV from reception makes it difficult to sleep, 4AM cleaning wakes you up. Request a room on any of the other floors.

The photo's they have on there site are not what it actually looks like. I had booked a female dorm of six and when i got there the size of the room was a closet with two sets of three bunks shoved into it. The bathrooms were disgusting had dirt and water on the floor looked like a bathroom you would see at a gross gas station. One of the showers was not working when got there and the one shower that did work I didnt even want to get into it looked like it would make you dirty not clean.

theres nothing wrong with the hostel, it is fine, staff is good, you know, building good, facilities, mah...but if you need clean, which im not fussy, maybe youd think its not clean, personally im kinda easy going about that. BUT its the people. You HAVE to be a party person, you have to not mind 3am noise and drunken people shouting etc. Im a proffesional, have work in mornings, and was just staying while my flat was redecorated, so the 3am drunken rows every night were...yeah annoying.

Rooms are waaay to small, it\'s like every single centimeter on the length or height of the walls was taken by a bed. By consequence, when I was there, clients unsatisfied did not show any respect neither for the place or for the people sleeping there.

Very nice stay. Highly recommended. Nice common room / reception area with large TV. Wi-fi doesn't work in the room but overall very good value for money! Great location close to Bakerloo line. Just few stations to Piccadilly Circus.

The guy behind the counter when I first arrived was really unfriendly. And although I can imagine that there are a lot of crazy people arriving I think it is just fair to be at least nice to every customer. Also the toilets could have been cleaner. There was constantly water running on the floor even though they were JUST cleaned. Since, your hostel is really cheap and I managed to sleep quite well I guess it was okay.

The hostel is located 15 minutes walk from Houses of Parliament, so I didn't use much public transportation.

This hostel was not clean and did not feel welcoming or comfortable. Definitely not what we expected. Location and breakfast were good.

I was impressed with the service offered by the staff. I enjoyed my stay in the hostel, because everything was very consistent: breakfast, wifi & Internet, cleaning (once per day), and kitchen supplies & availability. However, the bathroom was a bit small for the amount of guests staying there. I really gotta say that I wish there was more offered for breakfast. It was a bit skimpy. Also, I recommend replacing paper plates and plastic silverware with real dishes.

It was definitely just a place to sleep at night. I did stay in a 14-bed dorm though, so that had a lot to do with it. The facilities were decent. It was a little annoying to have to keep pushing the button to turn the shower on, but it was nice that the water was always hot. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I loved the atmosphere at the London Eye because everyone is welcome to just hang out. Overall, it was a great experience, just don't have too many expectations.

Nothing particularly great about this hostel, nothing too awful. I was in a 15-person room, which was less awful than expected, but many of the other guests in the room were 30, 40+, which was slightly unusual for a hostel. One of the actually-affordable hostels in London. Location is close to all the main touristy things, but if you want restaurants or such in the area, you might want to look elsewhere. Thoroughly average.
