Met by a condescending bar woman who told us that we were to change rooms each morning, that we could look for a cleaner around 9am each morning who could tell us where to leave our things. As we were not going to be around at 9am each morning this was not going to work, and I expressed my concern. There was zero apology or understanding shown by the women. 'This is cheap accomodation in Sydney' she said. I agree, cheap and very nasty.

Thank you very much and we truly had a great time there. It's a little pity that you closed your bistro earlier than schedule on last Sunday. We had no chance to enjoy the food and use the coupons as we came back to the hotel.

Bistro staff very friendly and helpful. Bar/hotel young male staff were friendly but seemed to lack enthusiasm, possibly need some more general training in receiving hotel guests, their role not just bar staff. However we appreciate this is more of a hostel than hotel, we were more mature customers and perhaps the business is being developed.

The placec certainly has character and potential to be one of the iconic hostels in Sydney. Would only require some cheap investments+bit of attitude from the staff. For example, would be nice if arriving guest was adviced in which room they are staying, where the room is, where's the kitchen, when to check-out etc. Replacing shaky bunkbeds with sturdier ones and proper pillows, clean and nice bedlinen, having a microwawe in the kitchen, working fan in the dorm etc. would make a HUGE difference

For being a hotel, I felt services and facilities were quite limited. Wifi would be a nice addition, so would be a small breakfast. However, staff was fantastic and the quality of the room was great. Thank you very much!

From looking at the advert for this accommodation, I was looking forward to staying there with my partner. We arrived and were told that the check in was not until 12pm even though the website let us plan our check in for 10am. There is a pub downstairs which was quite noisy at times and a bit run down. The room upstairs was extremely basic and could do with a lick of paint. We were very disappointed and it was not like the picture at all. Literally, white walls with two old bunk beds in it.

The hotel is located in a quiet neighbourhood, but it's definitely more than 15 minutes walk. On Friday night, it could be really noisy till midnight. Another unpleasant thing is after i check in and enter my room, i find it haven't been cleaned and made up, that's a bad experience. room is spacious.

I booked double bed and stayed one night. This room has a private refrigerator,so very convinience. The location is close to Darling harbor and probably you can go there about 12 min on foot. I'm almost sutisfied with Lord Wolseley. If i had to say a little bad point, you can't check in before 10:30 AM.

It's a lovely place, very homely, but a couple of things would have There was no internet, and in the evenings, when the library was closed, there wasn't any internet nearby. Also, came back to get dinner in the bistro, but by the time I got back at 8.30, it had already closed. eating options nearby were very slim so went to buy food to cook for dinner, but when i got back I found out that the oven wasn't working... the staff were lovely, but completely unhelpful.

this retro hostel has a nice mood, location is not very convenient but environment is quiet and easy to relax. it was slightly hard to bring up my luggage to upstairs with narrow stairs.

Staff were very friendly. We stayed on a Sunday evening and it was very quiet as the pub closed at 10 pm. A nice leafy location and very good value for money for Sydney (we stayed in an en suite double room for $39 each). A bit like staying in a friend's spare room - nothing amazing to look at but everything you need. We'd definitely stay here again.

The hostel is prefect according to the price you pay. The bathrooms need some maintenance and the kitchen of the First floor needs to be provided with some basic stuff (there weren't even tea or sugar)
