Stayed here on a weekend and knowing that it was above a pub can not complain about the noise, it was a weekend after all, but what really bothered me about this place was the amount of mold in the room and not just a little bit around the window but an entire corner of the room from floor to ceiling about a meter wide.also on the cement wall the paint was bubbleing off from the mold growing under it covering most of the upperhalf of the room. Unless there are no other options I\'d avoid this one

Lord Wolsely is an old Australian pub with the hostel on the second and third level. It happens to be located on my favorite street in all Sydney, with beautiful old architecture and some amazing buildings. The facilities are pretty old and ratty, but the atmosphere and vibe is great. I had a view of the city outside my window. Best of all the window actually opened up for a fresh breeze, unlike some other concrete box hostels. Downstairs is fun few a few sneaky beers. Loved it for character.

Staff was only focused on the bar. Room was mould-infested. Definately not worth the money, even over New Years Eve.

The 4-bed room we stayed in was moldy, had a dirty carpet that looked like it belonged at a horrible crime scene, the matrasses were covered in non-breathing plastic, and old garbage from former residents were still under the beds. We asked if the cleaning-lady could clean our carpet and remove the garbage, but she didn't bother to do either. The kitchen had no lights for three days, and was too small to do anything useful. No staff present ever, no Internet access, wouldn't reccomend to anyone!

Needs a lick of paint in the bedrooms and no light in kitchen but otherwise clean, nice staff and a cheap pub downstairs.

my second night was much better than the first night in a dorm. this time we stayed in a double bedroom with shared bathroom. the room was much cleaner, although it still smelled quite strange. we had a tv that did not work. the guy at the reception was much more friendly than the ladies at the first day. overall we would recommand the double bedroom at this acommodation, if you are not too picky!

this accommodation would be ok if you just need a place to sleep in sydney with a central location. but the room and carpets were very old, dirty and smelled like a dead animal. who has got the idea to use a white carpet in a hostel? it really needs a renovation. the cleanliness in the bathroom was ok. the staff was not very friendly and not able to organise a check in before 12 am.

We enjoyed our stay at Lord Worseley. The hotel was basic but better than expected. Suited our needs well, just a place to shower and sleep at night. Not too cramped. Very comfortable bed but need new pillows.Overall was a good place and would definitely stay again. Thanks to the friendly staff! We stayed in private double room.
