You want to experience an authentic Guatemala home-stay experience? This will be as close to do that as any in a very convenient location at Antigua. Irma is the owner who is super-friendly. The decor and ambiance are very colonial Spanish/Guatemalan style that I really wanted to experience. I would highly recommend this place (despite of my own preference to have exclusive bathroom facility) to experience authenticity, down to earth comfort, and a happy ambiance. Would love to go back.

The hosts of this hostel are very friendly and happy to help in any way. The room didn't have a window at all, but it still was a nice and cozy room. However I felt like I paid way too much compared to other places in Antigua.

First of all, the hotel is in a great location and looks insanely quaint when you enter. It really is only a door in the wall on the streetside, with one hallway stretching 30 meters into the back with about 5 rooms in total. The setback is that the rooms only have windows to the inside, as they are all squeezed between the buildings surrounding the hotel. Though Irma was a great host, we did feel a bit cheated when she arranged a vulcano climbing trip for us, as we paid 50% more than the others

While the proprietor is pleasant, one can do much, much better for the same price point in Antigua.
