It's excellent!! The staff is very nice and the hostel is pretty and very clean. It's very relaxing to stay in this hostel. There are many board games to play in the common room and the kitchen is well-equipped. You can get free breakfast here. Although it is quite far from Hbf, it is very near to the bus station and the tourist attractions, so the location is quite good!

I stayed in Lotte - The Backpapers 7 days (from 2 until 9 May). All I can say is the best for this hostel. Of course, when I will visit Heidelberg again, I will stay in Lotte. Greetings from Vladimir (now in Macedonia).

Absolutely adored this lovely hostel! Carmen was very welcoming and I loved the free cereal for breakfast! Crunchy nut cornflakes anyone!? Location was great - 15 minute hike up the road to the Heidelberg castle and viewing grounds (or a short 2 minute ride on the fernicular right next to the hostel) and great for anyone wanting to explore the old town side of Heidelberg! Loved it and definitely will come back to stay at Lotte if it's available!

- Great location, right under the castle, very easy to find and with convenient bus connection to train station. - Very friendly and helpful staff. - Spacious rooms, clean and new beds and bathroom. Love the cozy little living room and the well equipped kitchen. - Really love the atmosphere of the hostel, warm and comfortable just like home, wish i could stay longer and will definitely stay there again if going back to Heidelberg. The hostel had actually made me like this city more.

I definitely recommend this hostel, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the hostel was very clean. Also, located in the alleyway up to the Castle, it is in a perfect position.

A very cosy hostel in a nice place. We were surprised how well the kitchen was equipped and we were able to drink tea or coffee and eat cereals free of charge even in the middle of the night when we arrived. The staff was amazingly friendly and they were cleaning the place all the time which you could also notice when looking around. It was also nice that we could leave our luggage in a locked room after checking out. We can really recommend this place!!

Great hostel! It's at the bottom of the castle, in a very central location (coffee shops, shopping and great eats are all within a five minute walk). The staff was super friendly as well. I would definitely stay here again.

Very good hostel! The staff was kind and welcoming and we had open access to the kitchen (including cereal whenever we wanted). The staff was a little too accomodating, however. We were in an eight bed female dorm and it was full but they let two girls share a bed-it was over crowded.

Owner Comment (Show)
Oh right, sorry for that. One of the girls was in the mixed dorm the night before and couldn´t sleep because someone was snoring very badly. That´s why we let her share the bed with her friend in the female dorm the second night. Was kind of an emergency.

A cozy little hostel just beside the alley and the funicular that take you to the Heidelberg Castle. The owner and staff are very nice; the hostel has a complete kitchen and offers free cereal, milk and coffee. Also has free wifi.

Wonderful location. Most importantly, Lotte was safer, more welcoming, and more comfortable than many inns, pensions, hotels I have stayed at in my travels.

Great location -- in the heart of the old town of Heidelberg (only the parking lot nearby was somewhat disturbing). The place itself was very clean and the atmosphere -- nice and cosy. Special thanks to Carmen for being so kind and for the warm welcoming!
