DIRECTIONS
LATE ARRIVAL
No worries! Our 'Happy to see you' reception counter is manned 24X7 thus there will always be one of our Hosts to greet you and happily check you in.
DECHO ROAD
Decho Road (pronounced 'day-show') is in Silom area. Normally, 'Decho Road' is quite well known for locals, most of taxi drivers should know it. (Based on our experience 9 out of 10 knows this road.) Decho is very small and short so it does look like a soi (sub-street) but it's a road! It's located between Silom Soi 12 and Soi 14.
Great map for Decho Road, check www.yellow.co.th and enter 'Decho Road'
FROM BANGKOK SUVARNABHUMI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
(reading 'Soo-wan-na-poom')
TRAVEL TIME
It takes approx. 45 min (during non rush hours time) to/fro the Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport.
OPTIONS OF TRANSPORT
There are two convenient ways to Lub d:
-- AIRPORT SHUTTLE BUS: Airport Express operates 4 different bus routes to downtown Bangkok. To get to Lub d, please take the 'AE1' bus to Sofitel Silom Hotel, and walk to Decho road. Within 5 minutes, you'll arrive at Lub d. The bus leaves every 45-60 minutes.
Airport Express INBOUND service (leaving from the Airport) operates from 05:00 to 24:00, 7 days a week. Cost per person for the entire route is 150 baht for adult and 50 baht for child.
For OUTBOUND service (leaving from Silom Road) operates from 07:00 to 23:00, 7 days a week. Cost per person for the entire route is 100 baht for adult and free of charge for child. (Hm... obvious that the bus really wants to send you home!)
For more details go to the Airport Express Counter Level 1, near Entrance 8 or ring 02-1348030 (local call) or +66-2-1348030 (international call).
-- PUBLIC METERED TAXI: Can be found on Level 1, near Entrance no. 3, 4, 5, 7, and 8. Ask the taxi to go to 'Lub d Hostel on Decho road, Silom' (Read more about taxi fare below)
Get instructions for taxi in Thai from our account on Flickr.com. Open the Flickr.com website and put 'lub d hostel bangkok' in its search feature. Look for the picture named 'Taxi Map to Lub d'. Or write to us at contactus [at] lubd [dot] com, ask for the link.
COST for a public tax (meter) as follows...
50 baht - Airport surcharge on top of the total amount on the meter (give the taxi driver at the end of the journey)
25 + 45 baht - for express way fees (pay at the toll booths)
250-300 baht - for taxi, per the meter
20-50 baht - as a tip (we, locals, normally give them 20 baht for this route because the airport is way out of town and the drivers have to wait for quite a long time to have one passenger)
Thus total is approximately 450 baht.
