Great place - immaculately clean (probably the cleanest place I've ever stayed). The staff were helpful and the free breakfast was a winner

Upon check in, they had not received our hostel world booking and my phone was dead so I could not show the e-mail. I lost the deposit I paid online and had to pay full price. The staff member was not interested in helping or offering any other solution. She just said we need to pay full price or we couldn't check in. Not a major amount of money, but the staff could have handled it better.

Excellent Hostel! Clean, perfectly located and very nice! The atmosphere is awsome, there's a lot of young people. Free pancakes, coffe and beer every day!

It's located downtown which means that the public transport is great but it's very loud. I wanted to leave cause the doorms were smelly, I don't know if it's the carpet or something else so I made sure that the window stayed open most of the time. I moved to a different doorm because the first one only had lockers where you have to put in a quarter each time you use it. Apart from the above mentioned things I really liked it there. The staff was always friendly and that's why I extended my stay

Unfortunately, our stay was plagued with errors and issues. There's been an issue with our booking which landed us in a 4 bed dorm instead of 2 doubles. The staff didn't seem to know what to do and the shifts don't leave each other notes, making us pay for what we were not supposed to. The room also was above a VERY loud bar that made even the beds jump far after midnight. I bet this place can be pretty cool if you don't plan to sleep at night. For us, it was a full scale disaster.

Not as good as expected based on previous reviews. Good location with pub crawls etc organised. Rooms and bathrooms not great. Attitude of the staff was poor. Overall an ok place to stay bit we wouldn't head here again unless there wasn't another option.

This place is great all around! Right in East village - close to everything - the gaslamp, the ballpark, the piers. The staff is excellent and super friendly. The place is kept really clean and there is tons of space. Plus they have all kinds of activities, $10 bike rentals, and all you can eat make-it-yourself waffles! I'm sold!

I have to say this is one of the best hostels I have ever stayed at - was only planning to stay a few days but ended up staying a week and was sad to leave! Met a lot of cool people here and the staff organise some really fun nights out at the local bars or clubs but if you just want to chill in the common room and play beer pong/drinking games that is just as good.

Top hostel. Staff were all helpful and fun! Had some great nights out organized by the hostel staff. Good free dinner one night and decent breakfast the mornings I made it down. Highly recommend staying here.

I have traveled to several cities in the U.S. and known many hostels, and this hostel was the best in terms of cost benefit and because of the excellent location. The staff is incredible friendly, I gonna miss them, thanks for Gustavo by the good tips, and is very good met people like Elisa who is always smiling and giving to us special attention.

This hostel is amazing! I felt at home from the first moment. It's as clean as you would expect a hostel to be and they offer a lot of free extra's, like free dinners 3 times a week, beers and delicious breakfast. They organize pub crawls and movie nights, they answer all your questions and are so friendly. I'd reccommend this hostel to anyone visiting San Diego! Groups, solo travellers, couples, short term, long term...it will fit your needs and will provide you that homey feeling you want!

This hostel was good for its price and location, right in the middle of the city. It has amenities such as TV and internet (which is too slow to stream anything, so no Netflix). It also provides breakfast and occasional dinner which I didn't attempt. It was however dirty and old. Towels and beddings were worn out and appeared overused. It feels like you're living in some pot head's room with their dirty laundry. My clothes were hung and when I got home they smelled horrible like the hostel.

three of us order a mixed-4 room. However the man who shares the room with us snored at nights. We have two girls of age 20 it would be better to have a roommate who are near and of the same age.
