they made transportation really easy so not as out of the way as you would . when leaving train exit right if coming from amsterdam to follow their directions. some staff were really cool, some werent. big big kitchen. breakfast was amazing!, little cabins were comfortable and secure and clean. there was lots to do even on rainy days. close bike ride to small town for cheap groceries

great place where to stay, nice staff, not usual hostel we are used to stay in, sleeping in caravan of small cottage gives this place a special atmospfere. but if you are a little cold one, don´t forget to hire a heater, nighs in september are cold there :)

One thing other reviews for this hostel don't really call out -- this is not an ordinary hostel with, for example, a single roof. Instead, this is more of an organized campground, with campers and cabins instead of bedrooms, and shared bathrooms in the middle. It's very clean and well-run, however. It's a bit out of town from Amsterdam proper, but they offer cheap, regular shuttles to the local train station, and I found it nice to be able to get away from the Amsterdam craziness.

It was really good to stay in Lucky Lake. We had fun over there. There was two problems in hostel. The first one you can not connect to internet because everyone try to connect but connection is not that good. The second problem and the biggest one is toilettes and bathrooms are outside. We had cold over there. Anyway, it is really good hostel if you want to stay in hot wheathers!! :))

Lucky Lake Hostel had so much character and charm. It was a good distance away from the hustle and bustle of the city so we could relax and unwind after a big day/night out. The shuttle bus was over and beyond what a hostel needed to provide, and we are very VERY thankful for it!

I LOVE Lucky Lake. The ONLY downside is that you have to catch the late shuttle to get back there at night, which nixes partying basically. But other than that, the staff is to die for, the services are great, the site is the cutest thing you'll ever see and it's just one of the best places to stay ever. It's definitely been my favorite hostel to stay in ever.

I really recommend Lucky Lake Hostel. I had a very nice time there! The staff was great, helpfull, friendly; the caravans concept is really cool; everything was very clean and safe. The location was good for us because is quiet, free and into the nature, but at the same time you can do your own parties and have fun with friends or new people that you will meet there. =) I will back there, for sure!

Staff lovely+friendly,a real asset. Hostel has loads of character and it was a really quirky place to stay.On the negative side,I would say that more effort could be made to ensure the caravans are clean and fresh smelling.Ours smelt very damp (34), so much so that it hit you as you walked in and my clothes smelt on returning home. We had ask for our really dirty fridge to be cleaned (I believe it was meant to be sealed up) but it was a lovely touch to leave a bottle of wine to say say sorry

I loved this hostel. It has character and it's perfect if you want to be away from the city. The only inconvinience was that it is far from Amsterdam downtown. You need to take the metro and then wait for the shuttle so if you wanna party until late in Amsterdam, this is not the place to stay. Staff was super friendly. The caravans are cute but a bit small for three people. The bathroom are always clean and available. I would recommend this hostel if you don't mind the distance.

Lucky Lake is a fantastic, quirky hostel! It's not right near the centre of Amsterdam, but that's not what we wanted! The lake is amazing! We had a great time kayaking and riding the bikes from there. The staff are lovely and very helpful. The facilities are great. Breakfast is great= lots of choice! Free internet and free tea and coffee all day! Definitely a fantastic place to stay! One like no other!

Excellent hostel with very friendly and helpful staff. The shuttle bus does need to be bigger though as more than once we were left waiting in the pouring rain as the bus was full on pick up. Would be the best place to stay if the weather was better. Amazing hot and cold breakfast and hot showers. Would stay here again.

My bed was comfortable and I slept really well (okay so I was lucky not to get noisy dormmates), the breakfast was by far the best I have ever had in any hostel (even compared to some hotels), the staff members were fantastic and I just loved how quirky and colourful the campsite looked like. Yes, the location may be far and can easily spend between €2-€4 a day just to get in and out of the city using the hostel shuttle, but I didn't really mind :)

Very unique and fun, great vibe and awesome place to meet people. The services were great and staff friendly. The caravans were actually alot more comfortable then I thought they would be, i had a great sleep there and keep that up.

Excellent Hostel! We really enjoyed our stay. The caravans are so cute and comfy. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The hostel is located a bit out of Amsterdam Central but its pretty easy to get in/out with the reagular shuttles. Would definately stay again!
